Fl. Ob. Bsn. - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM513 Composed by Roma Cafolla. Flute Oboe and Bassoon. Score and Parts. 36 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM513. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM513). ISBN 9790570484126.The 1st Movement is essentially a discourse between the instruments with each highlighting the theme. It's an attempt to capture the trust required and the empathy needed to enjoy chamber music. Initially, this piece was written for the bassoonist Chris Vale and his trio New Horizons. The 2nd Movement features a simple melody which is embellished and shared by all players. The theme meanders through different keys before returning to C major. The bassoon maintains a steady rhythm throughout, and ends with semiquaver scale passages before a final diminuendo. The 3rd Movement a repeated motif throughout, and is a joyous evocation of an hilarious musical party. It features the bassoon and uses the maximum articulation of all the instruments. The last stanza (marked stringendo) challenges each player to contribute to the headlong rush culminating in the final unison.

String Ensemble,String Trio - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.861849 Composed by Mark O'Connor. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 14 pages. Mark O'Connor Musik International #6203883. Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.861849). In The Summertime (score – vln, vla, cel) MO167AScore (parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor10 pages - 6:00 minutes in length In The Summertime is comprised of two parts, with two distinct messages. The first speaks to the space of wonderment in our lives, where good friends and experiences surround us. A time spent looking forward to the continuing joy and merrymaking of the innocence and purpose that brought us together. We then travel to where agelessness ends, where innocence no longer lingers. The bitterness within a life that begins to be complicated where it wasn¹t before starts to overwhelm the sweetness on the tongue. Still, the B-section of the piece yearns backward and forward at the same time. Tugging at the memory of what came before to find and create meaning farther on.So many of us expect life to continue to deliver its many delights, without realizing that it was the innocence and freedom, the faith in the possible that created the delightful condition of youth. After a playful frolic with the instruments dancing about in the musical forest, the A and B parts return, reminding us that unlike time that moves ever forward, the journey back to the wonder and freedom of childhood awaits us all. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 2006 Composed by Mark O’ConnorThe accompanying MP3 is of Mark O’Connor’s Appalachia Waltz Trio (touring ensemble) with Becca Albers and Mike Block, performing live in 2007 at the Aspen Music Festival. Catalogue Number MO167ACopyright © 2006 by Mark O’Connor Music InternationalFor more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for violin, viola, cello and school string orchestra programs:www.oconnormethod.com

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1105185 Composed by Danny Elfman. Arranged by L.C. Harnsberger. Broadway,Christmas,Film/TV,Holiday,Musical/Show. Score and Parts. 80 pages. LCH Music #708440. Published by LCH Music (A0.1105185). Danny Elfman’s classic song “This Is Halloween†from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas has been skillfully adapted for standard-sized orchestra with harp. This instrumental arrangement retains the “haunting†mood and colorful orchestration of the original, but makes it easily performed by any group with standard instrumentation. The harp and pitched percussion parts may be performed on electronic keyboards. Danny Elfman composed the music to Tim Burton’s 1993 classic stop-motion animated feature The Nightmare Before Christmas. Although Walt Disney Pictures feared the film might be too scary for children, it is now considered a timeless classic that has been re-released numerous times, and has been featured in the annual holiday-season version of Disney’s Haunted Mansion since 2001. Today the film is frequently screened with live orchestra and singers. “This Is Halloween†is the perfect piece to open or close your next fall or holiday concerts. Please note the following errata: In the flute 1, flute 2, and clarinet 1 parts, the arpeggio in measure 59 should be one measure later in measure 60.

Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869365). Instrumentation: 2222-4321-2perc-pf-strings. When Andrea Bates, executive director of the Brockton Symphony Orchestra, first told me that the Brockton Symphony had commissioned me to write a new work to be premiered in 2003-2004, I immediately thought that since its music director, Jonathan Cohler, is a marvelous clarinetist I would be most attracted to the idea of writing a clarinet concerto for the occasion. Both Andrea and Jonathan were very receptive and enthusiastic about my idea. Andrea also told me that the commissioned work should somehow bring to attention the diverse cultures of the recent immigrants that have settled in the city of Brockton. So in the spring of 2003 I came down to Brockton for a meeting to which Andrea had invited representative members of these new communities. Three showed up: Maria Evora-Rosa, Rick Marrero and Fred Fontaine. Andrea had asked them to bring recordings of the music from their countries for me to listen to. There were CDs of very exciting and fun music from Cape Verde, Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. After spending months listening to the music from these countries, all of them islands in the Atlantic or the Caribbean, I slowly began to get a sense of the beauty and the magic of the musical style and language of each place, each individual island. The end result is a three-movement work for clarinet and orchestra. Unlike the traditional Concerto form which is Fast-Slow-Fast, this work begins with something slow. A fast number follows as a second movement; and then, after a short, slow interlude, another fast number appears. The first movement is my adaptation of the morna of Cape Verde – slow, melancholy and sad. The diva of the morna is Cesaria Evora. Her singing brings to mind a fusion between the African blues and the Portuguese fado. The second movement is my take on the merengue as performed by the inimitable Xavier Cugat. It is dance music through and through!!! The third movement is also a dance number: the ever-popular music from Haiti, the reggae. And in order to give some contrast between the two dance numbers, I added a slow chorale for clarinet and strings that serves as a prelude before the dancing begins in the final movement. I envision the chorale as a little church music before the people go out and dance the night away. Throughout the entire work, the solo clarinet is the principal voice … singing, dancing, and cavorting!!! Gotta dance!!! Have fun and enjoy the music!!! I surely did as I was working on it ….

Instrumental Duet Bass Trombone,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.755280 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 47 pages. Sy Brandon #4886103. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.755280). Adages II is the second in a series of compositions based on familiar sayings. It is composed for Dr. Joseph Murrell and is for bass trombone and piano. There are five movements in this composition. 1. Strike while the iron is hot – This movement is in a fast tempo with a lot of syncopation and irregular meter change. The piano frequently plays two loud chords that indicate the striking. 2. Opposites attract – The opposites in this movement are a swing style and a classical style. Each has its moments to shine and yet one clearly influences the other. 3. Stop and Smell the roses – This movement is lyrical representing the beauty of smelling roses. A motif that contains rests is a reminder to stop and take time for the beautiful things in life. A contrapuntal middle section with steady sixteenth notes builds in intensity as another reminder that one needs to take time from the hectic pace of life to enjoy beauty. 4. Curiosity killed the cat – This movement is mostly soft, staccato, and furtive representing the curiosity of the cat. A loud chord or succession of chords indicates the cat getting into trouble. This happens a total of nine times representing the cat’s nine lives before the cat is finally doomed. 5. Look before you leap – As the adage implies, there are a lot of melodic leaps in this movement. Any scalar material or repeated note figures serve as a warning to look before one leaps.

You know the moment before you take off down that mountain path, or the split second before you jump into the lake below that cliff? This piece portrays the adreneline pumping moment before you leap into whatever adventure is next. With quick syncopation in both hands and plenty of pickup notes, this piece was written to push students to the next level with their counting.Inspired by a short 3 note motive and plenty of cool rhythms, students won't be able to stop jamming to this beat. And the small glissando at the end makes this a recital hit! Written especially for my active boy students, the strong bass keeps the beat going without complicating matters when it's time to practice the hands together!

Bass Trombone,Instrumental Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.810720 Composed by John Frith. Contemporary. Individual part. 13 pages. Gordon Cherry #1942817. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.810720). Composer John Frith has written a new solo virtuosic work for Bass Trombone with Piano accompaniment of about 3 minutes in length. Read below to see what his thoughts are about his composition for Jonathan Warburton.  I have written a number of pieces (over many years) for Jonathan Warburton who also commissioned ‘Sons of Thunder’ in 2015. Jon’s gift for musical ‘acrobatics’ gave me the idea of creating a short, high-energy work that would give vent to his exceptional range and flexibility. The central section is muted and relatively calm but it is not long before the music builds and the opening material returns. A solo cadenza creates a welcome calm interlude before the storm gathers once again as the piece builds to a momentous fortissimo before grinding to a thunderous halt! ‘Sons of Thunder’ is the nickname given by Jesus to the apostles James and John, possibly reflecting their lively characters……I’m guessing that theirs were not too unlike Jonathan’s ebullient personality!.
