So werden einige Repliken aus Shakespeares Der Sturm auf Englisch gesungen: Dabei handelt es sich um eine Replik Calibans, der seine ganze Menschlichkeit offenbart, wenn er den Geräuschen der Insel lauscht, sowie die wenigen vorausgehenden spöttischen Repliken der Narren. Die Worte in der Sprache der Maya bezeichnen die Tage des Maya-Kalenders. Sie werden wie Zaubersprüche ausgesprochen, die von Prospero selbst rezitiert sein könnten und nähren diese Mischung aus okkulten und magischen Kräften, die den Sinn des Seins und dessen Beziehung zum Anderen hinterfragt. Die Solovioline und das Publikum werden vom Doppelchor eingerahmt, der damit sowohl die Grenzen der Insel als auch Prosperos‘ magischen Kreis absteckt.
