Yet, Sor’s works are so charming and rich that I felt compelled to delve deeper. Again, I have taken a number of his works for solo guitar and expanded them here. This has enabled me to furnish each voice, those composed by Sor and those I’ve added, with a degree of independence that enables them to simultaneously behave independently of the others and to interact with and react to them more freely.I hope that this will inspire guitar students and more seasoned players alike to examine the structural underpinnings of his works when crafting their interpretations much as I have in producing these arrangements.Lorsque j’ai entrepris mon projet d’arrangement, Fernando Sor : Beneath the Surface, je n’avais pas encore imaginé d’autre projet. Pourtant, les œuvres de Sor sont si charmantes et riches que je me suis senti obligé d’aller plus en profondeur. Là encore, j’ai repris un certain nombre de ses œuvres pour guitare seule et les ai développées ici. English (for Italian see below)--------This vocal arrangement is quite similar to the original song, rather than a choral arrangement you'll find a rhythmic approach.I only used two phrases of the original three ones, with the beautiful refrain with an harmonic movement at bars 38 and 39.In the ending I took some liberties, there isn't the powerful à la Caruso ending. Instead, after the closing there is a little more complex and dramatic harmonic part.Your attention please: I wrote two arrangements: a richer SATTBB and a simpler SATB; soprano and contralto between the two are different, it is not enough to remove the second tenor and the baritone from SATTBB to obtain SATB.Italiano--------L'arrangiamento vocale è abbastanza simile all'originale per cui piuttosto che un arrangiamento corale ho preferito un approccio ritmico.Ho usato solo due frasi delle tre originali con il bellissimo ritornello che si movimenta armonicamente alle battute 38 e 39.Nel finale mi son lasciato andare, non c'è il finale potente alla Caruso ma dopo la chiusura c'è una parte armonica un po' più complessa e drammatica ma che termina in modo scherzoso.Attenzione: ho scritto due arrangiamenti: SATTBB più ricco e SATB più semplice; le parti di soprano e contralto tra i due sono diverse, non basta levare il secondo tenore e il baritono da SATTBB per ottenere SATB se no non suona bene.
