String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.746791 Composed by Joseph Eastburn Winner (1837-1918). Arranged by Keith Terrett. Folk,Jazz,Traditional. 30 pages. Keith Terrett #3532487. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746791). An arrangement of Little Brown Jug for String Orchestra & Drum Kit.Little Brown Jug is a song written in 1869 by Joseph Winner, originally published credited to Eastburn (Winner’s middle name). It was originally a drinking song. It remained well known as a folk song into the early 20th century. Like many songs which make reference to alcohol, it enjoyed new popularity during the Prohibition era. In 1939, bandleader Glenn Miller recorded and broadcast his swing instrumental arrangement of the tune with great success, and the number became one of the best known orchestrations of the American Big Band era His version did not have the lyrics. In 1939, Glenn Miller and His Orchestra released a hit version of the song on RCA Bluebird, as an A side 78 single, B-10286-A, in a new arrangement by Bill Finegan backed with Pavanne. The recording was an early chart hit for Glenn Miller. The song was performed in Glenn Miller’s Carnegie Hall concert that year and became a staple of the Glenn Miller Orchestra repertoire and a classic of the Big Band era.The song was featured in and was central to the plot of the 1953 Universal Pictures film biography The Glenn Miller Story starring James Stewart and June Allyson. For more of my original music, great arrangements and all the national anthems of the world, check out my on-line stores: http://www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/keith_terret http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/search?Ntt=keith+terrett

Flute,Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.998312 Composed by Graham Hickey. Concert,Contemporary. Score and part. 22 pages. Graham Hickey #6286101. Published by Graham Hickey (A0.998312). A duet for two flutes of intermediate to advanced level. A very playful duet which can be used in recitals or concerts or even background events. For many years since moving to Preston, our favourite place for an afternoon walk has been Beacon Fell in Lancashire. It is a relatively small (110 acres) forest which sits on a hill of a bump, but has such charm. As you arrive you can see this bump getting bigger from a distance. You can just walk around and listen to the birds and the nature as it relaxes you.

Cello,Instrumental Duet,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1409334 Composed by Socrates Arvanitakis. 21st Century,Classical,Traditional. 72 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #991958. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1409334). GENERAL PREFACE – ΓΕΝΙΚΟΣ ΠΡΟΛΟΓΟΣThis edition of violin and violoncello duets follows closely my publication of the same Greek folk pieces for classical guitar. The arrangements for guitar solo were written in two-part counterpoint and followed the strophic form of the folk songs involved. The melodic transcriptions of the folk melodies were not based in any particular performance, also avoiding the elaborate in many cases instrumental introductions associated with these songs. Thus, only the vocal melodies in a general recognizable version were presented. This new presentation for instrumental duets will stay with this generalised melodic version (without exploiting the instrumental introductions), but the form from strophic will become ternary (ABA). In the middle section the main melody will be played in the lower voice and the original guitar contrapuntal voice will be used in the upper voice if by chance it includes invertible counterpoint, otherwise new material will be added to fit the rules but also the intended harmony. The total collection is centred more on the music from mainland Greece and less in that from the Islands. The three dance rhythms of Kalamatianos (7/8), Tsamikos (3/4), and Syrtos Balos (2/4) are predominant in the whole first collection.TECHNICALSeparate parts have been included and they can be extracted as separate files with any free PDF editing programme on line.Empty pages have been added for inclusion/deletion at will and left-right hand page arrangement.Thematic Index with active internal links for ease of navigation have been added.Audio file (mp3) has been addedCONTENTS162 ΝΕΙΑΤΑ ΤΑ (Youth)163 ΝΕΡΑΤΖΟΥΛΑ (Little Bigarade Tree)164 ΝΕΡΟ ΚΑΙ ΚΡΥΑ ΒΡΥΣΗ (Water and Cold Fountain)165 ΝΕΤΑ Η (Neta)166 ΝΙΚΟΤΣΑΡΑΣ Ο (Nikotsaras)167 ΝΟΣΟΚΟΜΑ Η(The Nurse)168 ΝΟΣΤΑΛΓΙΑ (Nostalgia)169 ΝΥΦ' ΑΠΟ ΔΕΝΤΡΙ ΔΙΑΜΑΝΤΙ (Bride from a Diamond Tree)170 ΞΑΝΘΗ Η (The Blonde One)171 ΞΕΝΕ ΣΑ ΘΕΣ ΝΑ ΠΑΝΤΡΕΥΤΕΙΣ (Stranger, If You Want To Get Married)172 Ο ΓΙΑΝΟΣ ΚΙ' Η ΠΑΓΩΝΑ  (Johnny and Pagona)173 Ο ΚΟΣΜΟΣ ΜΕ ΤΑ ΒΑΣΑΝΑ (The World With Its Hardships)174 ΟΙ ΚΛΕΦΤΕΣ ΤΟΥ ΒΑΛΤΟΥ (The Klefts Of The Swamp)175 ΟΛΑ ΤΑ ΠΟΥΛΑΚΙΑ (All The Little Birds)176 ΟΤΑΝ ΠΕΡΝΑΣ ΓΙΑΤΙ... Juan Maria Solare #6661277. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596633). Zerzura, for solo flute. Music by Juan María Solare. Zerzura (Arabic: زرزورة – the accentuation is therefore on the u: zerzúra) was a mythical city or oasis supposedly located deep in the desert west of the Nile River in what is now Egypt or Libya. In writings dating from the 13th century, there is mention of a city that is as white as a dove and it was called the Oasis of the small birds. The music of this flute solo has a certain Arabic character, hence its title. This piece was composed in Worpswede and Bremen on 17 and 25 August 2021. Duration: 3:30 Zerzura is dedicated to Esperanza Domingo Gil, who premiered it at the concert on 23 November 2021 at the theatre of the University of Bremen (Germany). Zerzura, by Juan María Solare, premiere by Esperanza Domingo Gil Zerzura, für Flöte solo. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138739 By Louise du Toit. By Louise du Toit. Arranged by Louise du Toit. Contemporary. Score. 10 pages. Louise du Toit #739041. Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138739). Ubhejane the Rhino is the twelfth in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Ubhejane the rhino is fuming. A born fire-fighter, he is used to stamping out small fires with his huge feet, protecting his natural surroundings from careless humans who often leave their camping sites without extinguishing the campfires. Today he picked up the infuriating scent of black smoke from a fire in nearby Umfolozi and upon reaching the camp where the blaze is rapidly growing bigger, he storms right through it, angrily snorting while extinguishing the flames on his way. After running around in beautiful Zululand, he finally comes to rest at a waterhole where he quenches his thirst among a herd of waterbucks before wallowing in a mud pit to cool off. When the wind carries the smell of a female rhinoceros towards him, he runs off again in search of some company. On top of his back sits a small parasite bird, clinging to his thick, leathery skin and listening to the grunts, snorts and snuffs of the two white rhinos as they prepare their lunch, grasping and pulling plants from the ground..

Published by Keith Terrett (A0.747027). A great sounding arrangement of A Night in Tunisia arranged for Viola & Piano, Violists will love this!A jazz solo is written out for you, if you wish you can improvise on the given chord symbols!A Night in Tunisia is a musical composition written by Dizzy Gillespie around 1941–42, while Gillespie was playing with the Benny Carter band. It has become a jazz standard. It is also known as Interlude. Gillespie called the tune Interlude and said some genius decided to call it 'Night in Tunisia'. He said the tune was composed at the piano at Kelly's Stables in New York. He gave Frank Paparelli co-writer credit in compensation for some unrelated transcription work, but Paparelli had nothing to do with the song. A Night in Tunisia was one of the signature pieces of Gillespie's bebop big band, and he also played it with his small groups. In January 2004, The Recording Academy added the 1946 Victor recording by Gillespie to the Grammy Hall of Fame.On the album A Night at Birdland Vol. 1, Art Blakey introduced his 1954 cover version with this statement: At this time we'd like to play a tune [that] was written by the famous Dizzy Gillespie. I feel rather close to this tune because I was right there when he composed it in Texas on the bottom of a garbage can. The audience laughs, but Blakey responds, Seriously. The liner notes say, The Texas department of sanitation can take a low bow.The complex ostinato bass line in the A section is notable for avoiding the standard walking bass pattern of straight quarter notes, and the use of oscillating half-step-up/half-step-down chord changes (using the Sub V, a tritone substitute chord for the dominant chord) gives the song a unique, mysterious feeling. The B section is notable for having an unresolved minor II-V, since the chord progression of the B section is taken from the B section of the standard Alone Together, causing the V chord to lead back into the Sub V of the A section.Like many of Gillespie's tunes, it features a short written introduction and a brief interlude that occurs between solo sections - in this case, a twelve-bar sequence leading into a four-bar break for the next soloist.
