Each of the six elementary solos in this series explores the different emotions various colors evoke and/or represent. This is an elementary piano solo/lyrics. Red is one of the 3 primary colors and is strong, energetic, and powerful. It is attention-getting and this is why sometimes it represents danger-as in fire trucks, stop signs, and train crossings, all mentioned in the lyrics. In some cultures, red is a lucky color. Form is intro A B A coda. Is in the key of C and 4/4 time signature. To be performed BOLDLY! Intro demands attention beginning with fortissimo clusters deep in the bass hands alternating, repeating up an octave, and then one more. A sections employ solid triads in root position beginning in LH with RH answering an octave higher. B sections arpeggiate these same chords with hands crossing over. Coda is exactly the mirror image of the intro, going down the piano with the clusters instead of up. This is a good dynamic contrast with 'Blue' and 'Green' in this series.
