String Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.826737 Composed by Jimmy McHugh. Arranged by Bud Caputo. Contemporary. Score and parts. 47 pages. Bud Caputo #6477295. Published by Bud Caputo (A0.826737). Don't Blame Me is a popular Great American Standard used by pop and jazz musicians alike with music by Jimmy McHugh and lyrics by Dorothy Fields. The song was part of the 1932 show Clowns in Clover and was published in 1933. It would be an interesting teaching lesson if directors asked students to compare and contrast any traditional version with the more current Taylor Swift song with the same title. This arrangement will require students to switch back and forth between a straight eight-note Latin feel and the traditional jazz swing feel . There are 32 bars reserved for open improvisation but a written-out jazz violin suggested solo is provided. A Vioin 3 Substitute for Viola part is included to strengthen the Viola section.
