In 4/4 time, simple rhythms up to eighth notes (this will be above the student's level but would be a good challenge for a recital, etc.), and simple beginning root notes and two chords in root position in the key of C (chords: C and G). This arrangement was created for a student who loves to sing, as well, but this arrangement could easily be modified for piano soloists (i.e., Repeat the first line and leave out the second line, or play melody in RH on 2nd line, keeping root notes in LH).
