Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1504155 By George Shearing Quintet. By Lorenz Hart and Richard Rodgers. Arranged by John Ivor Holland. 20th Century,Broadway,Film/TV,Jazz,Musical/Show,Standards. 81 pages. John Ivor Holland #1079611. Published by John Ivor Holland (A0.1504155). 'Have You Met Miss Jones?' is a song from the 1937 Broadway musical I'd Rather Be Right, a Depression-era political satire set in New York City about Washington politics and political figures such as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The plot centres on Peggy Jones and her boyfriend Phil, who needs a raise in order for them to get married; the President ultimately steps in and solves their dilemma. This jazz standard has been covered by many artists over the years, including George Shearing, Anita O'Day, Frank Sinatra, Robbie Williams and Seth MacFarlane - it is also cited as a potential inspriation, in its bridge passage, for saxophonist John Coltrane. This arrangement has been created from the jazz combo version by Michael Philip Mossman and features short solos (with suggested lines and chords) for clarinet, flute, trumpet and alto sax, with drum breaks towards the end.

C Instrument - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1256068 By Eric Clapton. By Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon. Arranged by Marcelo Borba. Blues,Easter,Folk,Jazz,Multicultural,World. Lead Sheet / Fake Book. 1 pages. Marcelo Borba #849535. Published by Marcelo Borba (A0.1256068). Arrangement in lead sheet format. The song Layla was composed by Eric Clapton in collaboration with Jim Gordon, who was the drummer for the band Derek and the Dominos at the time. The track was released in 1970 as part of the album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. The story behind the song involves a love triangle. Eric Clapton was infatuated with the wife of his friend, George Harrison, who was none other than Pattie Boyd. Clapton's love for Pattie Boyd inspired him to compose the song Layla. The song reflects the anguish and emotional pain he felt during that time. The structure of the song is notable as it combines two distinct sections. The first part is an acoustic ballad, featuring the iconic guitar intro. The second part is a heavier, more energetic section driven by a distinctive guitar riff and a memorable solo. This dynamic shift reflects the different emotions and intensities of the love story depicted in the song. The collaboration with Jim Gordon was also significant in creating the song. Gordon contributed to the composition by writing the piano part and helping to structure the track. His skill as a pianist added an extra dimension to the music.Overall, Layla is one of Eric Clapton's most acclaimed songs and a landmark in rock history. It captures Clapton's emotional intensity and technical prowess as a guitarist and songwriter.

String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Digital Download SKU: A0.498087 By Adam Levine & Tony Lucca, Boyz II Men, En Vogue, and The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Jeff Perholtz. Rock. Score and parts. 7 pages. Published by Fab Forward Entertainment (A0.498087). The Beatles -Yesterday (String Quartet) This arrangement will allow you to perform the song as it was originally recorded, accompanying an acoustic guitar/vocalist. A lot of research went into ensuring that this arrangement is as accurate to the original work as possible. There are many pictures online of George Martin's original score. In an interview with his son Giles (see Youtube link), Martin indicated that he and McCartney made several changes to the original. For example, McCartney added the following: M35 the Cello run to Eb; M44-M48 the high A on Violin I. When isolating the string section by soloing the left channel of the original recording, one can clearly hear several additional changes, such as the addition of double stops and inversions throughout the song. For example, Violin I goes to E in M11; Violin I & II hold the 3rd note of the harmony in M37. The end result of these changes is a masterpiece that undoubtedly one of the most successful recordings of all time.
