James Bond for Brass Band CollectionA few years ago I decided to base my summer programme around a central theme of the James Bond movies. Audiences loved the conceptt and the pieces because they knew the tunes and could sing along.There is such a rich collection of theme songs available which people know and love. This particular arrangement is based on the Bob Curnow arrangement for Big Band and is not simple. But is very playable by any competent brass band. There is nothing overly clever or difficult technically but rhythmically it needs to be precise. It will be enjoyable and playable by all levels of brass band.

This is the original version that I did for Brass Band.It was recorded originally by Glenn Miller and his orchestra and was featured in the film Sun Valley Serenade in 1941. It is a great tune by the legendary Harren Warren with lyrics by Mack Gordon.

An experience that many conductors may feel they have experienced.The music is from the original 'War of the Worlds' film and was recorded by the band 'Moody Blues'.The full brass band instrumental version,  a version for male voice, 10 piece brass and various solo versions with piano accompaniment are available for this work.
