SKU: A0.826732

Composed by Bronislau Kaper and Ned Washington. Arranged by Bud Caputo. Contemporary. Score and parts. 37 pages. Bud Caputo #6454951. Published by Bud Caputo (A0.826732).

On Green Dolphin Street is a jazz classic popularized by Mile Davis but originating in the movie of 1947, with Lana Turner and Van Heflin. Two styles are presented in the head, a Latin style, with straight eight notes, is followed by the swinging eight note style. Therefore, students will need to understand how to execute the two different bowing styles. Chord changes are placed in all parts at the jazz solo section, or the director may choose to use a written out solo that is provided for a solo violinist. A Scale Study Sheet is provided to assist students and guide them to possible note selections for each chord in the 32 bars, as is typically done in Jamey Abersold’s pedagogy. A Violin 3 part is included to bolster the Viola section, and a single amplified jazz bass may be more desirable than using the entire contrabass section.  However, for thejazz solo choruses, only one bass should be used throughout. Note: The YouTube Link below is a practice track to be used during class rehearsals . It conforms to public domain standards as there is no melodic material of lyrics taken form the original work.

By Various. By Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Arranged by Max Stannard. Broadway,Musical/Show. Brass Band. 31 pages. Max Stannard Music #1030121. Published by Max Stannard Music (A0.1450389).

Little Shop of Horrors is a horror comedy rock musical[1] with music by Alan Menken and lyrics and a book by Howard Ashman. The story follows a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The musical is loosely based on the low-budget 1960 black comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors. The music, composed by Menken in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, Skid Row (Downtown), Somewhere That's Green, and Suddenly, Seymour. This arrangement of Somewhere That's Green features a Solo Tenor Horn in a very melodic number.
