The Wiggly Tooth is a song for Unison Children's Choir with Piano Accompaniment that talks about a child who discovers they have a wiggly tooth and how they wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle that tooth to get it to come out.  The words and melody are fun and catchy, with a surprise ending for the audience when the tooth finally comes out.  There are two verses and a really fun, catchy chorus.  The accompaniment carries the melody, so this song is suitable for small or young choirs as well.  It also can be used as a solo, and would be great for concerts and music festivals.  I currently do not have it recorded with a choir, but hope to have one of my local music teacher friends record it for me with their choir in the fall after they return to school.

The solo part appears to be very technical but does not push the boundaries of unnecessary virtuosity. The part stays in an accessible range for intermediate/advanced players. Largo Siciliano is a slow dance movement in a simple metre comprising a sequence of variations, separated by a refrain; a single idea is continually reworked and recast. This idea, or little siciliano, is a reference to Mode de Valeurs et d’intensités, written in 1948 by Messiaen with whom the composer studied. He writes: “From this piece sprang the whole development of ‘total serialism’. But Messiaen’s piece was not serial, and nor is mine. What was originally considered as a study or experiment is, for me, a point of departure for quite different expressive intentions�.

The string quartet can be played without voices and voices without the string quartet. On other than Spanish languages voices could use the ah sound. When having many singing, the quartet can be multiplied to have a small string orchestra.
