Reflection is a solo for 4.3-octave marimba. It was written in dedication to beloved friends and family who are no longer with me, but I always reflect on the good times I had with them. The piece utilizes a consistent flow of sixteenth notes. The beginning is straightforward with an intermingling of odd and even time signatures. The middle section is where the theme of reflection is shown. The entire range of the marimba is explored with an ever-present push-and-pull in the tempo. The end (coda) is a subtler nod to the opening theme and finishes with a delicate arpeggio.

Also, various playing techniques are used such as ricochet (on open strings), legato, marcato, spicc.
