My goal is to create something that sounds beautiful as a standalone piece of music and, most importantly, that it also makes pianistic sense. Each of my arrangements is made for a specific student, so the results will vary in terms of playing level. Most decisions are based on their current skills and abilities, or where I would like for them to be when they complete the piece.This arrangement was made for a late beginner student currently working on Federation class Elementary 2. Some very tricky fingering in the right hand, but worth the trouble. I chose not to transpose to another key with less sharps because its actually easier with the black keys, in my opinion. Sometimes it's good to throw them a good challenge, and it paid off for me. This was actually a more successful performance than his Federation piece at our recital!

I wrote this piece in honor of immigrants, in recognition of the courage it takes to move to a new country and learn a new language. New immigrants often go through difficulties and setbacks, including persecution from citizens of their adopted country. This, despite the recent immigrant ancestry of most of the persecutors, notably in the USA. In the subtitle of Immigrant Blues, I recognize my own immigrant ancestors, and also Anders LundegÃ¥rd, who, like my paternal grandparents, moved to the USA from Sweden. Anders helped me with this piece, with his reviews and comments. **Here are the lyrics for Immigrant Blues: 1. Moving to the U. S., far away. Life here is so bad, I will not stay. I don't include dynamics or fingering as no two piano teachers would agree on such things I prefer to leave these to the individual player. This is a really fun piece to play and is a tune of great nostalgic value for me. Also note this is a piano solo and doesn't include notation for the other instruments in my YouTube video but was written as a piano solo and sounds great as such.Hope you get as much fun out of playing it as I have.

By going on a mission I was put in a situation where I could testify of God's gospel truths. Those people hearing the truths had the opportunity to pray to God to find out for themselves if what they had been taught was true. Those people that talked to God in prayer joined the church. Why? Because God answered their prayers. Some of those new members went on missions to other lands converting through the spirit of the Holy Ghost others, who in turn went on missions to other lands.
