Sports et divertissements (Sports and Pastimes) is a cycle of 21 short piano pieces composed in 1914 by Erik Satie.The set consists of a prefatory chorale and 20 musical vignettes depicting various sports and leisure activities. First published in 1923, it has long been considered one of his finest achievements.Musically it represents the peak of Satie's humoristic piano suites (1912-1915), but stands apart from that series in its fusion of several different art forms. Sports originally appeared as a collector's album with illustrations by Charles Martin, accompanied by music, prose poetry and calligraphy. The latter three were provided by Satie in his exquisite handwritten scores, which were printed in facsimile. This is my arrangement for wind quintet of:8. I first performed Siegfried's Idyll as an undergrad, and when I learned that Wagner wrote it for his wife after the birth of their son, I knew I'd do something similar when it was my turn. In the same spirit, Mati is a lullaby for my firstborn Mateo. The piece took me a bit over a month to write and it resembles the tenderness and innocence of our young Mateo. Mati should be graded lower than 4, but because of the independent lines--and some high positions--I decided to grade it higher. Preview the score and check if it's adequate for your students. I haven't heard Mati live because my string orchestra is not at the level yet--but I look forward to it Thanks for reading!

This is an arrangement of Paranoid by Black Sabbath for Flute Quartet.  I've always wanted to know what power chords would sound like on a Flute and decided to arrange Paranoid to find out. I am very pleased with the results and hope that you agree. There are two ways that this arrangement can be played that can get two sounds. Playing it as written will give a medieval sound, which is what the MP3 file sounds like. The second option is to add Flute Beatboxing. Whenever a part has Quarter notes jumping 5ths (measure 5 Flute 3) the performer instead of playing normally can use strong Puh and Caa articulations to sound like a drum kit. I have attached a video using this technique to play the super mario bros theme to better describe what I mean by Flute Beatboxing. There is also an optional Jet Whistle in Flutes 1 and 2 in measure 20. Both techniques create a unique sound that accurately reflects the source material as well as giving musicians more expressive capabilities.  At this time, I have been unable to attach individual parts. They've been there since I started my job two years ago and they became great friends of mine. Most of this piece was just me messing around, hence why it's called Horsin' Around. You'll notice that this piece doesn't follow a raggy rhythm like most of my pieces. It takes a more marchy approach, but there are still syncopated phrases here and there. I had a lot of fun making this, and honestly it's one of my favorite compositions.

In a way, this is a tribute to Penderecki and uses some of his landmark techniques as well many of my own. The duration is 10 minutes. This is a manuscript score and sometimes not easy to read, thus the reduced price.

Your audiences will love the melody and harmonies. This arrangement by Donald A. Mills is for barbershop as a quartet or chorus. It is TTBB (TLBB) a cappella, sung softly, sweetly, legato, singing the four dotted quarter notes as a 3/4 time. The Beach Boys have mentioned that they wrote In My Room in 12/8 time because they had tired of the 3/4 time many songs of the day were written in. From Wikipedia, Gary Usher explained that 'In My Room found us taking our craft a little more seriously. Brian and I came back to the house one night after playing 'over-the-line' (a baseball game). I played bass and Brian was on organ. The song was written in an hour... Brian's melody all the way. The sensitivity... the concept meant a lot to him. When we finished, it was late, after our midnight curfew. In fact, Murry [the Wilson brothers' father] came in a couple of times and wanted me to leave. Anyway, we got Audree [the Wilson brothers' mother], who was putting her hair up before bed, and we played it for her. She said, 'That's the most beautiful song you've ever written.' Murry said, 'Not bad, Usher, not bad,' which was the nicest thing he ever said to me. Gary Usher (who co-wrote the lyrics with Brian Wilson) further describes that Brian was always saying that his room was his whole world. Brian seconds this opinion: I had a room, and I thought of it as my kingdom. And I wrote that song, very definitely, that you're not afraid when you're in your room. It's absolutely true. In 1990, Brian wrote, I also enjoyed producing 'In My Room'. There is a story behind this song. When Dennis, Carl and I lived in Hawthorne as kids, we all slept in the same room. One night I sang the song 'Ivory Tower' to them and they liked it. Then a couple of weeks later, I proceeded to teach them both how to sing the harmony parts to it. It took them a little while, but they finally learned it. We then sang this song night after night. It brought peace to us. When we recorded 'In My Room', there was just Dennis, Carl and me on the first verse...and we sounded just like we did in our bedroom all those nights. This story has more meaning than ever since Dennis' death.

Thou my best Thought, by day or by night, Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my lightBe Thou My Vision is a traditional Christian hymn, which can be traced to Ireland but is now sung in English-speaking churches around the world and is often sung around St. Patrick’s Day.​The music is the Irish folk song, Slane referring to Slane Hill. Slane Hill is about ten miles from Tara in County Meath. It was on Slane Hill around 433 AD that St. Patrick defied a royal edict by lighting candles on Easter Eve. High King Logaire of Tara had decreed that no one could light a fire before Logaire began the pagan spring festival by lighting a fire on Tara Hill. Logaire was so impressed by Patrick’s devotion that, despite his defiance (or perhaps because of it), he let him continue his missionary work.
