But having just one guitar means that the inner voice sometimes runs out of steam, and the bass voice jumps around from one octave to another. It always left me feeling there was a bit more music to be had amongst the notes.My arrangement, for 4 intermediate players (some of the parts are a little easier) is in a different key entirely. Spreading the workload allows a little more action to go on under the tune.Guitar 4 is 6=D, and it’s also supplied in bass clef (for a normally tuned contra guitar or similar). This arrangement is 4 mins long and in B flat major. It is not the easiest of keys for strings but neither is it the hardest. It needs lots of vibrato, especially for the first violin, and subtlety from the inner parts to make sure they are heard but do not overpower the melody. The excerpt is from the instrumental section in which I exercised a little creativity! I would think players would need to be ABRSM Grade 7 to be able to play this well, but I could be wrong!
