Then they are off with a run and a leap and we hear the first theme, a martial tune in the solo euphonium, with fanfare-like interjections on the cornets. At letter B, the tune is expanded to encompass the other sections of the band. Then at letter C, a new idea is introduced which has little obbligato tweets from the soprano and repieno on the repeat.The bass solo continues the military idea with aggressive fanfare interjections over the bass melody.The trio changes style completely and should be played as lightly and delicately as possible. The leaps on baritone and trombones should be clear and well articulated but should fit into the general texture rather than stick out abruptly.At letter G, the grace notes should be played by only one player in each section to avoid sounding like clucking chickens. The grace notes should be extremely light.

The Five pieces of music  which are now known as the Suite for the Mechanical Organ or the Suite for Mechanical Clock (WoO33) surfaced after Beethoven's death, bringing with them several very puzzling mysteries. Most challenging of them all was the instrument for which they were written. Piano, strings, harp and most other common instruments were instantly ruled out, building on the perplexing mystery and adding to the frustration. Eventually, Albert Kopfermann set forth a convincing argument that their strange scoring seemed a perfect fit for the Flötenuhr or Spielühr, a mechanical organ or clock. He observed that the notation in No. 1, in F, matched that in Mozart's K. 608 Fantasia (for Flötenuhr), the score of which Beethoven possessed. Other circumstantial factors pointed to the Flötenuhr as the instrument Beethoven designed these pieces for. None of these five pieces was published until the twentieth century, and, not surprisingly, all are rarely heard.This is my arrangement of Mvt 3 Allegro for a brass trio of 3 trumpets.It will work work equally well with any three similar treble clef brass instruments (i.e all 3 must be in the same key either Bb or Eb)e.g 3 treble clef reading trombones/euphoniums/tubas/cornets or a mixture of cornet/euph/tbn/tuba.Sim. a mix of 3 Eb horns/Eb tubasI have simplified some of the semi quaver passages, and moved some of the notes to fit within the range of the instrument(s).Fun for all 3 players.Enjoy!!

Unklar ist bis heute, ob er Pezelius, Bezel, Pezolt, Pezel oder Petzel hieß. Pezelius war bis zu seiner Berufung zum Stadtmusikus in Bautzen Mitglied der Stadtpfeifer in Leipzig und ein anerkannter Clarinbläser seiner Zeit. Die hier vom Ensemble Akzente herausgegebene Suite stammt aus: Johannis Pezelii - Fünfstimmig blasende Musik bestehend aus Intraden, Allemanden, Balleten, Courenten, Sarabanden und Chiquen und wurde im Jahre 1685 verfasst. Die Originalbesetzung bestand aus zwei Zinken/Cornetten und drei Posaunen („zweyen Cornetten und dreyen Trombonen). Das Ensemble Akzente fand es reizvoll, einige Stücke zu bearbeiten und in einer eigenen kleinen Suite für Trompete und Orgel zusammenzufassen: Zwei Intraden rahmen zwei Ballette und eine Sarabande ein.
