Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1408592 Composed by Cam Moll. A Cappella,Chamber. 8 pages. Cam Moll #991189. Published by Cam Moll (A0.1408592). This piece is a setting of the poem of the same name by Emily Dickinson for SATB choir unaccompanied. I chose this text because I was immediately drawn to its rich language and subtle elegance. I think that the poem is a beautiful representation of the complex nature of grief, and the effect that it has on the human experience. All of us have experienced the grief that comes with loss, and each of us deals with grief in our own ways. The vocal parts interact with each other in a variety of interesting ways and textures, in order to communicate this complex notion of grief. Featuring two soloists towards the end, the piece aims to allow the audience to reflect on the concept of grief, and is designed to be accessible for choral ensembles of varying experience levels.A preview of the score with audio can be found here. Learning tracks also available for purchase.
