Flute Quartet,Woodwind Ensemble Alto Flute,Bass Flute - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.560118 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Baroque. 22 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #6453905. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.560118). JS Bach wrote this canzona for the organ. It is a typical canzona of its time, consisting of the same melody played in two different time signatures. It also has some chromatic counterpoint in it that makes this piece sound interesting. Only a small number of measures were changed in this piece to accommodate this quartet setting, mainly to do with range and in the effort to not leave any one part sitting without music to play for too long.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Flute - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.587471 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by David McKeown. Baroque,Concert,Contemporary,Standards,Wedding. 23 pages. David McKeown #3243685. Published by David McKeown (A0.587471). Next to nothing is known about the origins of Johann Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The earliest manuscript dates from the nineteenth century and the piece only emerged from obscurity through radio play in the 1970s. Now one of the best-loved and ubiquitous classical pieces, the Canon’s repeating chord sequence has inspired countless pop tunes from the Streets of London, to I Should be so Lucky and Don’t Look Back in Anger. This version is arranged and transposed to a suitable key as a Trio for three Flutes. An optional part 4 is included which can be played on any bass instrument to add texture and harmonic context. The original note values have been doubled to make the rhythms easier to read. The linked youtube performance is the Clarinet version of this arrangement. Musicians at an advanced intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances, and being a Canon, all but the bass part play the melody. Duet versions of this piece can also be found by browsing from the link below. The overall performance time is around four and a half minutes. Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with stamina, concentration and rhythmic consistency.
