Die Begegnung und intensive Zusammenarbeit mit Carl Orff selbst hat Regners Schaffen nachhaltig beeinflusst. Seine Kompositionen sind stets musizier- und hörbar; davon zeugen auch seine aus dem Nachlass veröffentlichten sechs Miniaturen „Alles zu seiner Zeit für gemischten Chor a cappella, auf Texte der Salzburger Schriftstellerin Catarina Carsten.
