Score and parts. 40 pages. Chris Gorman #720214. Published by Chris Gorman (A0.1118778). Carl Albert Hermann Teike (5 February 1864 – 28 May 1922) was a German composer who wrote over 100 military marches and twenty concert works. Teike began writing military marches, including one in 1889 that would eventually be named Alte Kameraden (Old Comrades). Upon his bandmaster's disapproval of that composition, Teike resigned from the army. A publisher purchased the song from him for twenty German Goldmark. Alte Kameraden later became one of the most popular marches in the world. This arrangement is for a Brass 8 piece.

Brass Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.790931 Composed by Karl Teike (1864-1922). Arranged by Kevin P Holdgate. 20th Century,World. Score and parts. 23 pages. Kevin P Holdgate #4320207. Published by Kevin P Holdgate (A0.790931). The Versatile Brass Sextet CollectionThis arrangement is for Brass Sextet and is accessible to players of all levels. (Includes parts for Horn in Eb, Trombone and Eb Bass in Treble Clef)Suitable as a concert item or as part of a Bier Keller setThe march was written around 1889 in Ulm, Germany, by military music composer Carl Teike. Teike wrote many pieces for the marching band of Grenadier-Regiment König Karl (5. WĂĽrttembergisches) No. 123. When bringing his newly composed march to the regiment, the Kapellmeister Oelte simply told him: We've got plenty enough of musical marches, put this one in the stove!. This episode eventually led to Teike taking his leave of the band and naming the march as Alte Kameraden. Teike later worked as a police officer but also continued composing military marches, adding up to approximately 100 in total.

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.733085 Composed by Carl Teike. Arranged by Marc Oliver. Contemporary. Score and parts. 99 pages. Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings #3114955. Published by Ayotte Custom Musical Engravings (A0.733085). Alte Kameraden (German for Old Comrades) was written by Carl Teike in 1899, and has since become one of the most popular marches in the world. It was written to honor the loyalty among those comrades-at-arms who have served together in the military in their younger days,a loyalty that remained strong for the rest of their lives, long past their military experiences. You can still see that same strong loyalty among the comrades-at-arms of today, displayed by veterans of World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, 9/11, Afghanistan and Iraq. This transcription of Alte Kameraden is derived from the original German march, and not the American version published later.
