Graduation Day is a piece I wrote because I could not find a song that fully represented the power and emotion surrounding a high school graduation. It is a time of endings and new beginnings. It is a celebration not only for the graduates, but also for the friends and family that have been cheering them on all along the journey. This song is written in SATB form with an easy pop style and medium tempo. My community's local high school performed it at this past graduation ceremony to rave reviews. My son was part of that graduating class, so this song had a lot of personal meaning and love. I hope this song can enhance your graduation ceremony as well.

Carpé is a made-up word for Carpet. A piano teacher posted a thread on Facebook in November 2013. She mentioned that one of her student’s parents spilled coffee on her white carpet while she was giving piano lessons. I thought this might be a good subject to write about because I spill coffee all the time. One time, I spilled a pot of chicken soup in my car……. A friend of mine spilled a crock pot of chili in her car transporting it to a graduation party.

You buy a well-written professional solo piano arrangement that is fun to play at an intermediate level.
This arrangement is close to the original with both Chester's and Mike's vocal lines. It's written in the original F sharp minor key. The MP3 snipped as well as my played version on YouTube are in D minor, because I think it sounds better than the original key, but I wanted to publish the arrangement in the original key. It is hence exactly the same, only transposed from D minor into F sharp minor.
