Composed by Cecile Chaminade. Arranged by Kenneth Baird. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. 45 pages. Kenneth Baird Music #6265799. Published by Kenneth Baird Music (A0.726444).
One of the most popular late 19th century works for solo piano, Scarf Dance, Op. 37b (Pas des Écharpes), by the French romantic-era composer, Cécile Chaminade, is here arranged for mixed woodwind choir (4 C flutes, 4 oboes, 4 Bb clarinets, and bassoon). This lively and expressive work is a lovely example of the later works of the romantic era and will delight performers and audiences alike. All parts are arranged so as to be engaging for all of the performers. Alternate parts are provided for alto saxophones to cover oboes 3 & 4, and for bass clarinet to cover bassoon. This arrangement is in the orginal key of Ab major. This would be an outstanding choice for high school ensemble competition/recital/concert or for university recital. .
