Namely, I think that the various textures this arrangement, when properly played, provides, will make for a very interesting piece.

Life's Railway to Heaven (Life is Like a Mountain Railroad) was composed in 1890 and continues in popularity with those who love gospel music. It has been recorded through the years by artists like Boxcar Willie, the Carter Family, Bill Monroe, the Chuck Wagon Gang, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Brad Paisley. Tillman's tune here is in 3/4 time, but a 4/4 version became popular when Patsy Cline recorded it in 1959. Willie Nelson later dubbed his voice into that version as a duet. In 2010, Western Writers of America chose this hymn as one of the Top 100 Western Songs of all time. This arrangement by McIntire is an Intermediate Piano Solo in the key of G featured in the Gospel Piano Classics series.
