Performed in its day by court trumpeters with valveless instruments and a pair of timpani, each fanfare announced with a different articulation style a new portion for the choreographed cavalry Equestrian Ballet. Accessible for students using B-flat or C trumpets and with timpani parts in both keys, they provide useful material for ceremonies and programs, even an exciting opening work to a band or orchestra concert featuring the trumpet section. Doubling parts enhances the musical impact of Baroque trumpet corps timbre and creates options for antiphonal treatment.
