The musical arrangement completely matches the theme of Holy King. The harmonies are well-aligned. It is bright and full. We would like to sing it again and again. -Rev. John Saethre, Pastor My adult choir sang Holy King Forevermore on Easter. It was a perfect opening piece as it seemed to set the tone for the whole service. We really enjoyed it and found it very singable!! -Judy L. Johnson, Choir Director

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.540614 Composed by Corey Cerullo. Contemporary,Graduation. Octavo. 6 pages. Cerullo Music LLC #4984797. Published by Cerullo Music LLC (A0.540614). I wrote this arrangement for my high school graduation as a project for my select choir to sing. The text is so universal that I thought it would be a good challenge to set it in a way that was relevant to my current classmates and one that would be well received. It is an understated work in terms of length, but the message is nonetheless powerful and could serve well for your farewell concerts or graduations. The choir does split in parts but only for moments to give richness to certain chords and text. .

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784292 Composed by Carrie Wickens. A Cappella,Christian,Gospel,Sacred. Octavo. 6 pages. Carrie Wickens #5372061. Published by Carrie Wickens (A0.784292). Listen to this beautiful, original melody, complimenting a powerful text by Charles Wesley. The text, also know as Wrestling Jacob, describes Jacob's physical and spiritual struggle with the pre-incarnate Son of God. It reveals the inner struggle of man wrestling to know, Who is God?. Finally, the piece resolves with the triumphant declaration that, Thy nature and Thy name is Love! The voices begin with an optional solo or unison choir, broadening to 2 and 4 parts throughout. Delight the listeners with an optional countermelody in verse 4, and an a capella section in verse 5. The simple, intermediate level accompaniment compliments the text and supports the voices throughout the piece. The arrangement begins in an easy to play key of G, transposes to the lower key of F, and finishes with a broader, slower melody in the key of G. The voices remain at a comfortable range. This was arranged to be accessible for the volunteer choir. Time: 4:07.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.719736 Composed by Various. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Curtis Hanson #4573109. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719736). As years come and go, one increasingly recalls memories of earlier times. One of the most vivid and cherished memories I have while growing up is of Sunday mornings, going to church, sitting in the same pew each week with my grandmother, hearing and singing the beautiful hymns of our faith, and then returning home to the aroma of beef slowly roasting in the oven. My father directed the church choir, my mother and older brothers sang in the choir, so the wonderful music of our faith was instilled in me from an early age. This medley, and others in the series, are arrangements of many of my favorite hymns from those early years, many of which have been lost in more recent editions. For this series, I have elected to use the older texts as that is the way they were first written and the way I first learned them. There is a reverence and beauty in the language enriching the vocal/choral tone which, I believe, is lost in contemporary, conversational, or politically correct syntax. I shudder to think of the day when a penitential phrase such as Hear thou my prayer, O Lord is rendered as Hey, God-dude, listen up - I'm talkin' atcha! I have also opted not to include the many wonderful hymns and carols which are associated with the major festivals of Christmas and Easter as those are commonly found in other collections. A caveat: I have no delusions, and I offer no pretenses, that these settings are great art. They are simply expressions of faith which I hope may bring a small measure of joy to other church musicians. The general concept of each medley is to present the hymn, often in its original chorale form, and then vary its harmony or texture. The hymns in this set include Spirit of God, Descend upon My Heart, Just As I Am, without One Plea, and Savior, Again to Thy Dear Name.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891204 Composed by Traditional Irish. Arranged by Laurie Betts Hughes. Contemporary,Folk,World. Octavo. 61 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3104111. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891204). Here is a great opportunity to collaborate with a children's or youth choir and Irish instrumentalists, or to freely substitute any treble solo and Western instrumental equivalent.Included in Project:Encore 2017, Quarter 1 Lost Songs of Ancient Ireland, for Mixed Choir with Treble Descant, Piano or Harp, Bodhran, Irish Flute, and Violin, is a three-movement song cycle that focuses on the shifting relationships over the scope of a lifetime from the differing perspective of each person involved.I.  Old Beggarman- Two interwoven jigs, It Was an Old Beggarman, Weary and Wet and Ag an mBóithrín Buí (At the Yellow Little Road), of both a young lady's observation of a wandering beggarman and his unrequited, possibly unexpressed, love for her.  They are offered together as alternate perspectives from potential romantic partners, and  features lilting, mouth music, or portaireacht bhéil (port a'bhéil, mouth-singing) as it is known in Irish Gaelic.II.  I Would Rock My Child to Sleep- A sentimental Irish lullaby Irish lullaby Do Chuirfinnse Féin Mo Leanbh a Chodladh (I Would Put My Own Child to Sleep) highlights the shifting roles of a caregiver: the parent full of hopes of the parent for the child morphing over a lifetime into a blessing from the grown child to the aged parent. Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative:   1. hopes of the parent for the child   2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance   3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent?     4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infant III.  The Drummer- An energetic reel,  a combination of Maidin Fhómhair, nó Cailín Péacach (The Harvest Maiden, or Sprouting Maiden) and Cormac Spáinneach, nó An Drumadóir (Cormac Spaineach, or The Drummer), alternating between romantic partners encased by a nostalgic love song, suggesting the passing of a lifetime.Commissioned by Cora Voce; Tacoma, WAMovements available for purchase separately.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com
