This SATB version of Marie O'Reilly's song, MISE ÉIRE is now available. Pádraig Pearse ( 1879 - 1916 ) was one of the leaders or the Irish Revolution ( called THE RISING ) in 1916. He was a Barrister and Irish Language enthusiast, who established his futuristc Irish language schools in Dublin in the 1900s. He wrote both of the Poems( one in Irish and one in English )  which Marie O'Reilly uses for her bilingual song. This SATB setting is accessible for an average ability Choir, and stands well on its own, although of course a Piano Accompaniment also exists.

I have merged the two ideas and created a double choir version singing some of the verses of the original song, divided in a way similar to John Dowlands duet. Versions are also available for ATBarB-ATBarB (men's voices) and for woodwind and brass. The sound sample is my own performance of the ATBarB-ATBarB version. I have also added timpani in the recording, but these are not scored and are optional.
