Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799645 Composed by D. M. Gardner. Contemporary. Octavo. 9 pages. D. M. Gardner Music #51883. Published by D. M. Gardner Music (A0.799645). Worse than any fear is being alone when experiencing it. But in love, there is an awareness that transcends scientific explanation. ...A connection so strong that it permeates seemingly impossible barriers. So, when we know someone we love is afraid, we long to comfort them in any way we can. We hope and pray that even in their hour of greatest difficulty or isolation, we can somehow reach out to them...If only to say, My Love, you are not alone. The male and female voices of the choir tell the story from their own points of view, but gradually emerge together in each other's comforting presence. From moments of despair to the final moments of peace, the rich warmth of the 8-part chorus beautifully reveals the tenderness of love and the power of hope and peace it can provide.Approx. 5'18 in length. To learn more about the composer, please visit https://www.dmgardner.com

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1144868 Composed by Joseph Hart. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. A Cappella,Folk,Religious,Sacred. Octavo. 15 pages. Mark R Lewis #745186. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1144868). Better known by it's longer title Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy, the text for this hymn was written by Joseph Hart in the mid-1700s. The text is thought to be loosely based on his conversion to Christianity. One of the most common tunes to be associate with the text is Restoration, sometimes known as Arise. This pentatonic tune comes from the Southern Harmony collection. This a cappella arrangement by Mark Lewis passes the melody between all four voice parts with key changes that place the melody nicely within every vocal range. Alternating between arpeggiating and homophonic accompaniment, this arrangement provides a wide variety of singing experiences for the choir over the course of the song.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1137245 Composed by John Ross. Classical,Patriotic. Octavo. 12 pages. John Ross #737445. Published by John Ross (A0.1137245). “For the Fallen†was written for Bec Beall and her choir “Lux Alba†and was premiered by them in 2019 at St Matthew’s Church, Albury, NSW, Australia. The words of this choral suite were written by the English poet Laurence Binyon in 1914, immediately after the Battle of Mons, where the British Expeditionary Force suffered a serious loss, soon after the start of World War I. The fourth verse (“They shall not grow old as we that are left grow oldâ€) has become known as the “Ode of Remembranceâ€, regularly recited at memorial services. This suite uses the words of the Ode for the first movement, with echoes of the bugle call “The Last Postâ€. The second movement, “They went with songs to the battle†portrays the soldiers as young men in fine fettle, physically and mentally fit for what lies ahead of them. The third movement, “As the stars that shall be bright as we are dust†compares the war dead to stars and constellations. They move “in marches upon the heavenly plainâ€. Will Longstaff’s painting “Menin Gate at Midnight†(reproduced on the cover of this score) movingly illustrates this concept, with ghostly soldiers marching by the Menin Gate at Ypres, Belgium. The work concludes with an alternate setting of the opening movement “They shall not grow oldâ€. A version of this suite with piano accompaniment is also available on this website.
