Frederic Chopin's Nocturne in Eb Major, Op. 9, No. 2 was composed between 1830 - 1832, when Chopin was around 20 years old. The nocturne was featured in the Roman Palanski film The Pianist.
My solo piano arrangement of the nocturne as a jazz waltz for intermediate students, contains some typical jazz lines and voicings in both the melody and accompaniment.

In this second version, the melody is passed from the violin to the piano in the middle. In the final 24-tuplet, the piano becomes the main melody, and there is a part where the soloist harmonizes. Only the last six notes of the 24th note are played by three instruments, each eighth note.

I find that piano teachers are often faced with the challenge of finding good preparation repertoire for Chopin Nocturnes or other mature works in the standard piano literature. Good answers include the selections from Grieg’s Lyric Pieces or Mendelssohn’s Songs Without Words. Since there seems to be a need for this level of repertoire I wrote Prelude in A major. This piece presents the student with many of the same musical challenges found in many of the Chopin Nocturnes; a singing melody, various motifs calling for precise dynamic control, control of soft accompanying chords and arpeggiated figures; all excellent preparations for ones first Chopin Nocturne. So, try the Prelude in A major for a good preparatory piece for the mature works of the romantic and contemporary periods. This short 3:11 minute composition is also a great piece for a church offertory.

This is a LARGE PRINT MUSIC version of Spring Waltz, often attributed to Chopin, however it was actually written by Paul de Senneville, as a tribute to Chopin.  It is a lovely, elegant piece, suitable for a late intermediate/early advanced pianist.  This piece is lovely for wedding music or meditation music. This arrangement has been transposed into the key of C (or A minor) for easier playing, rather than the original key of B-flat.  This arrangement was created to assist low vision musicians, therefore most extra markings on the page have been removed to reduce page clutter.  It features larger notes and wider staff spacing, and minimal dynamics and articulations, producing a concise, clean copy.  Additional note names are added to some of the very high, less familiar notes.  Although arranged for low vision musicians, this edition will benefit anyone who prefers LARGE PRINT FORMAT sheeet music. Due to the LARGE PRINT process, the piece is a lengthy 28 pages.  Be sure to have enough paper in your printer, and perhaps print on both sides in order to save paper.  Large Print arrangements always increase the number of pages.
