Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.984719 Composed by Frederic Chopin. Arranged by John M. Honeycutt. Romantic Period. Score. 6 pages. Music Innovators Workshop #4359399. Published by Music Innovators Workshop (A0.984719). This incredibly difficult-to-read piece is tamed by the key maps tablature. The traditional notation for this piece is at the extreme of its ability to notate piano music - and it fails miserably! It is playable only by the gifted few who have the tenacity to race through reading this incredibly fast 6 flat Eb minor notation. with its additional double flats and accidentals, some of which must be played on white keys. Surely the piece must be some kind of joke - Chopin's way of thumbing his nose at those bold enough to try to play it. It surely is NOT the great music that Chopin usually crafted. The joke is that it is not really difficult to play. It is just incredibly difficult to READ! The music can be played, although without its breakneck speed, by students at the intermediate level if reading from a key map. This piece is an extreme example of how much easier playing from key maps can be.This piece is notated on a vertically oriented tablature called a key map. Key maps are intended to SHOW you (visually) which keys to play by matching (mapping) the locations of the keys on the keyboard. >>> The group of 12 keys from Middle C up to B form what we call the green Octave Group. (There are 7 of these identical groups on the piano distinguished by their colors and locations.)The key map staff is based on an Octave Group of the keyboard. For each key map octave group, the 5 vertical lines of the staff stand for the 5 matching black KEYS. >>> Staff lines ARE SPACED to match the horizontal spacing of the black keys on the keyboard The notes for black keys are placed ON these staff lines. The notes for the white keys are placed BETWEEN the lines. >>> The notes of a key map move to the left and right to indicate change in PITCH and down the page to indicate the passing of TIME (rhythm). The vertical length of each note is proportional to the time (in beats) that the sound requires.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1500065 By Reimund Merkens. By Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Reimund Merkens. 19th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Score. 29 pages. Pianist and Arranger Reimund Merkens #1076139. Published by Pianist and Arranger Reimund Merkens (A0.1500065). The vast majority of Chopin's works have a very high level of difficulty and are therefore hardly playable for beginners. But I selected some of his beautiful works and arranged them so that they are technically much easier to play for intermediate piano beginners, but still retain the musical idea and expression of the composer.Andante spianato op. 22 Etude No. 1 from op. 25Theme from the 3rd Movement of piano Sonata op. 35 Prelude op. 28 No. 15 (‚Raindrop‘) Theme from the 1st Movement of Chopin’s last piano Sonata op. 58.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.835640 Composed by Richard S. Willis, Frederick Chopin. Arranged by Renee Hyche McKee. Christian,Christmas,Concert,Romantic Period,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Renee H. McKee #5030195. Published by Renee H. McKee (A0.835640). While out on a winter’s walk one evening, I was thinking through the lovely It Came upon the Midnight Clear, and without any warning, Chopin’s exquisite Nocturne in E-flat, Op. 9, No. 2 kind of crept in and curled itself around the Midnight melody and made itself at home. The result is this gentle mashup of these two beauties in a piano solo. Most of us do not have tons of time to practice, but the original Chopin left hand chords and leaps are daunting, so I have modified the bass notes without losing the composer’s harmonic intentions. Also the original time signature of 12/16 has been changed to 6/8, a more familiar friend and is compatible with It Came upon the Midnight Clear. There are some suggested fingerings in a few places. Use pedal at your trained ear’s discretion.I played this piece as a Prelude for our church Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, and the mood that it set was heavenly. Enjoy, and I hope you or your advancing students enjoy playing this at your next holiday event!

Philip Kim #1087624. Published by Philip Kim (A0.1512679). This is the beautiful second movement from Chopin's Piano Concerto in E minor Op. 11 that I transcribed for solo piano.  This is one of my favorite concerto movements of all time.  There are already a few transcriptions of this movement, particularly done by Balakirev, which is wonderful.  The complete concerto is also available.  Thanks for your purchase and enjoy.  My other concert transcriptions of piano concertos:Chopin's Piano Concerto in E minor Op. 11 Complete MovementsBeethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 Op. 73 Emperor Concert Transcription For Solo Piano Complete movements Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 Op. 18 Concert Transcription for Solo Piano (Complete Movements)Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini Op. 43 18th Variation for solo piano

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1512670 By Philip Kim. By Frederic Chopin. Arranged by Philip Kim. 19th Century,Chamber,Classical,Romantic Period. Score. 66 pages. Philip Kim #1087621. Published by Philip Kim (A0.1512670). This is the third arrangement from a series of piano concertos for solo piano.  The first two are Beethoven's Emperor Concerto and Rachmaninoff's second concerto.  Chopin's concertos always sounded like a grandiose piano sonata to me.  The orchestration isn't as complex as Beethoven's and Rachmaninoff's.  But it didn't mean it was easy to transcribe.  I think the transcription turned out well.  Already a challenging piece, a solo version is more.  The beautiful Romance of the second movement is worth learning it.  Thank you for your purchase and enjoy practicing. My other concert transcriptions of piano concertos:Romance from Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 Op 11 second movement for Solo PianoBeethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 Op. 73 Emperor Concert Transcription For Solo Piano Complete movements Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 Op. 18 Concert Transcription for Solo Piano (Complete Movements)Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini Op. 43 18th Variation for solo piano
