Fotheringham.Text:What can I offer, Lord up above,He who has blessed me with perfect love?Thou suffered for my sins, grace to impart. So,What can I offer? Only my heart. What shall I give Thee, Lord of mankind?Thou great Creator, all things are thine,Treasures throughout the earth moving and still. So,What shall I give Thee? I'll give my will. How can I know Thee, Savior divine,He who has taught me, line upon line?If I can do Thy will, serve Thee at length, thenThus can I know Thee, yielding my strength. Thus can I know Thee, yielding my strength.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576139 Composed by Carroll O'Daly. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. Contemporary,Folk,World. Octavo. 3 pages. David Warin Solomons #2031597. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576139). Choral arrangement of Robin Adair, with some interesting harmonies. Audio sample sung (multitrack and transposed down a little) by the composer The original tune was composed with the words Eibhlin a Ruin (Ellen Aroon or Eileen Aroon) by the Irish bard Carroll O'Daly (14th Century), although it was later attributed to the 18th century Irish composer Charles Coffey (this was presumably an arrangement of the original). The words of Robin Adair itself are understood to be by Lady Caroline Keppel, who was in love with a surgeon by that name. (This seems more likely than the theory that Robert Burns wrote it, although Burns certainly knew Keppel's lyrics and made his own parodies upon the words). Some later versions of the melody contain Scotch snaps but this version follows the simplest melodic line, without the Scotch snaps - which may have been closer to O'Daly's original tune - and with quite romantic choral harmonies.
