A piano arrangement of the traditional Christmas carol, God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen.  Rhythmically spirited, with unexpected harmonic elements at times.  The introduction uses motivic ideas from the melody, beginning with fragmented and syncopated figures, gradually building from one line in the left hand to thicker chordal textures.  The melody is then set in two variations, the first accompanied by motivic material from the introduction, and the second using an expanded range and chordal textures echoing the introduction.  The arrangement is provided in two keys, D minor and E minor.  Suitable for worship as prelude, offertory, or postlude.
