Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.924239 By Steely Dan. By Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. Arranged by Alastair Clarke. Pop,Rock. Score. 34 pages. Alastair Clarke #4969959. Published by Alastair Clarke (A0.924239). I couldn't find an arrangement of Peg for a small to medium sized soul band, so this is what I've come up with. One notable difference from the original song is that the horns play the backing vocal parts. Other than that, I've stayed as close to the original as possible. On the whole, shouldn't be too difficult to play. There's the occasional funny rhythm and most of the chords are very.. um... jazz, but once you get your head around it, this could be played by a high-schooler.Any questions, problems or queries can be directed to alastairdouglasclarke@gmail.com.

Two Violins, Piano - Digital Download SKU: IZ.PDP300 Composed by Rebecca Clarke. Score and Parts. 52 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #PDP300. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.PDP300). 9 x 12 inches.Clarke worked on the Pieces for Two Violins and Piano during 1909, her last year at the Royal College, when Danse Bizarre gained her a scholarship. Clarke mentioned Danse Bizarre in her typescript memoir composed in the 1970s, and also discussed it with me in 1977 while helping me catalogue her compositions, but she said then that it was long lost, and made no mention of any related material. In the year 2000, however, Clarke's great-nephew Daniel Braden found.a box that Clarke had put in the back of a closet decades before and evidently forgotten, which turned out to contain a chaotic assortment of letters, papers, medical records, and music-manuscript sheets. When put in order, the latter yielded the missing inner leaf of an important viola piece and a number of previously unknown or presumed-lost arrangements and compositions, including ''Danse Bizarre and a Prelude, a Nocturne, and the beginning of a Finale for the same instruments, on the same paper, and bearing similar markings in Clarke's hand and in at least one other hand, which may well be Stanford's. The four movements were plainly developed as a suite, although there is nothing to suggest a sequence for the inner movements, and no compelling reason to believe that the Finale ever got beyond the extant eight pages. The manuscript of the Finale is noticeably rougher than those of the other movements, and several pencil-markings, apparently in another hand, suggest that some of its motivic material had not yet jelled. It seems entirely possible that Clarke had only begun this movement when a family crisis forced her to leave the College, and that she never returned to it. In any case, there is not enough of the Finale to make performance feasible, but the other movements stand quite magnificently on their own. They were recorded by Lorraine McAslan, David Juritz, and Ian Jones on Dutton CDLX 7132, released in 2003. The first public performance, by students at the Royal College under Jones's supervision, took place in May 2005 in the College's Concert Hall, where Clarke had last performed nearly a century before.

Trombone Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.792269 Composed by Clarke, Ernest. Arranged by Cherry, Gordon. 20th Century,Instructional. Individual part. 113 pages. Gordon Cherry #4803727. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792269). The Clarke Method for Trombone has some uncommon features not found in other method books. 1. First, is the use of the key of C for the initial 33 exercises. The author then progresses through all of the keys, alternating the sharp (first) and flat keys through to six sharps and six flats by the end of exercise 155. 2. Secondly, there are no exercises devoted solely to minor keys. However, Clarke employs the minor mode in all of his exercises through the use of scales and arpeggios, so in fact the performer is receiving a steady diet of minor melody built in for him/her. 3. Thirdly, Clarke uses no metronome markings. He explains; each exercise should be practiced carefully over and over again until every difficulty is thoroughly overcome – until the exercise can be played through correctly – before going on to the next. His purpose is to avoid speeding through them. Clarke’s exercises are progressive throughout the keys, however each one starts out easily in order to keep the student focused on the new key and the new progression notes that come with it. For the advanced performer, this book is great to use as a way to ease back into shape after a rest from the instrument, allowing the performer to relearn the instrument carefully and methodically. I use it also for tone building, phrasing, and breath control. Throughout the book, Clarke reminds the performer to always produce a noble sound, stressing natural playing (without forcing) and relaxation. His phrase, the breath is the life of the tone, is a phrase that Remington used throughout his great teaching career as well. Clarke talks about tonguing, saying that, the tongue is used merely as an aid in articulating – not as a necessity... the tone does not depend on the tongue... the tongue should not be made too important...

Brass Quintet Euphonium,Flugelhorn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.817159 Composed by Herbert L. Clarke. Arranged by Charles Decker. 20th Century,Chamber,Historic,Pop. 32 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #6056663. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.817159). This solo feature for a quintet's trumpeter or cornetist is from the Golden Age of concert bands at the turn of the 20th century composed by legendary Sousa Band soloist Hebert L. Clarke. Clarke's impressive setting of Carnival of Venice remains the most frequently performed version of the theme and variations cornet solo first made famous by Arban. To contrast the cornet soloist's pyrotechnics is a humorous trombone and tuba accompaniment that enlivens the listening experience. A flugelhorn/trumpet alternate part is provided for the horn part. The sound file is an actual brass quintet performance of the entire arrangement and not a computer playback of the score. If looking for more trumpet solo features with brass quintet see Charles Decker Music Press SMP editions of Sasche Concertino for Eb Cornet of 1871, and opera arias by Puccini Che Gelida Manina from La Boheme, Verdi Caro Nome from Rigoletto and Rossini Non Piu Mesta from Cinderella.
