It depicts a festival with much energy, and powerful use of the brass and percussion, and is not a typical band piece. The Festival work can be performed without the contrabass clarinet, E-flat clarinet and alto clarinet if necessary. This beautiful song, arranged here for solo piano, deserves to be much better known. It dates from 1900 and was performed at a British promenade concert at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in 1906. The song was republished in 1932 in the News-Chronicle Music for the Home, a collection of popular classical pieces edited by the composer. As a champion of musical performance, Landon Ronald intended this volume to encourage home music-making. The habit of listening to music instead of performing it...is so deeply to be deplored he wrote in the preface. It is up to all music-lovers to do what they can to prevent it from spreading... Flight of the Bumblebee (Russian: Полёт шмел�) is an orchestral interlude written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov for his opera The Tale of Tsar Saltan, composed in 1899–1900. Its composition is intended to musically evoke the seemingly chaotic and rapidly changing flying pattern of a bumblebee. Despite the piece's being a rather incidental part of the opera, it is today one of the more familiar classical works because of its frequent use in popular culture. The piece closes Act III, Tableau 1, during which the magic Swan-Bird changes Prince Gvidon Saltanovich (the Tsar's son) into an insect so that he can fly away to visit his father (who does not know that he is alive). The duration of this is 2.07 minutes and it is a difficult level piece.

Jeffrey Hoover's compositions - music ranging from works for soloist to symphony orchestra -have received recognition through the prestigious Trieste prize, the international Luigi Russolo competition, awards from Mu Phi Epsilon, the Lancaster Fine Arts Festival, grants, publications fellowships and more than 20 commissions. He is a member of the ACME roster of Mu Phi Epsilon, recognized for distinguished achievement as a composer. One unique aspect of Hoover’s work is when he combines composition with his paintings, creating synergetic art that intrigues and captivate audiences and performers alike. His paintings are seen in exhibitions and in concerts where his paintings are projected while musicians perform his music. Hoover’s background as a performer includes both classical and jazz music, as saxophonist and conductor. His book The Arts and Society: Making New Worlds is published by Kendall Hunt Publishing. Hoover was born on September 11, 1959, in Anderson, Indiana. The set was commissioned in 2020 by Anima Vox Duo (Tadeu Coehlo, flute, and Carole Ott Coelho, voice) for She Can, We Can project. The set was premiered by Anima Vox Duo on March 09, 2021, at the University of North Carolina School of Arts.This was my first time working with the texts by Sara Teasdale (1884-1933), and I was so inspired by her poetry that several more settings followed after it. All of the selected poems for this cycle were published in 1915 in the book entitled Love Songs. Teasdale’s texts indeed have inner music, and it seems like they are just calling to become songs.Performers should take as much freedom as they want, and follow the natural flow of phrases. This cycle is all about being a duet, not one instrument accompanying another.
