This new arrangement of La Chasse allows flutists to perform this work in public as a concerto. It is a wonderful addition to the flute concerto repertoire making this virtuosic showpiece available for competitions and orchestra concerts alike! The piano accompaniment has been carefully arranged idiomatically for string orchestra parts are simple enough to be played well by school and student orchestras. Randolph Hall (A0.483391). This is a result of the inspiration from M.C. Escher's 1951 work by the same name. The concepts of relatvity, repetition and inter-dimensionality are addressed in a quasi-minimalist style in this famous art work. The interval of thirds creats the image of the wentelteefje (Escher's fictitious creatures) going up and down stairs at all angles. In section F, the wentelteefje curl up and roll away, after their climbing of stairs. Vox 1 & 2 are mirrors of each other and simulate sine waves (red) except for the bridge material before each section. Likewise, for Vox 3 & 4 (blue), mirror and simulate cosine waves. Vox 5& 6 mirror and are my best attempt to simulate tangents. Vox 7 provides a bass and backdrop for the scene.

Arranged wind quintetIncludes natural Horn in Bb basso (Alt Hn in F provided)The Six Viennese Sonatinas were not originally composed by Mozart for the piano. They are a contemporary arrangement of selected movements from the Five Wind Divertimentos for 3 basset horns, K. 439b which Mozart wrote in 1783.The Divertimentos are notable for their conciseness of form and their melodic richness. (Each divertimento has 5 movements.)They therefore make an excellent introduction to Mozart's piano music, even though they are not completely typical of Mozart's piano writing. We do not know for certain who made the arrangement, but Alexander Weinmann has shown that it was probably Ferdinand Kauer. The order of movements is not the same as in the original; moreover, some of the Trios have been exchanged and recapitulations have been shortened in some instances.This is my arrangement for wind quintet of Viennese Sonatina No.4 in Bb The original 3 parts have been reallocated around the quintet, with some octave and harmony additions.I have added an original natural horn part for a more authentic Mozart sound.
