Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1378482

Composed by Ariel Reichstadt, Johnny Natural, Sean Fenton, Usher Raymond, and Wesley Pentz. Arranged by Steve Burks. Contemporary,Pop,R & B,Soul. Score. 5 pages. Steven L. Burks #963104. Published by Steven L. Burks (A0.1378482).

This solo piano arrangement of Climax by Usher is ideal for upper-intermediate and advanced players who like R&B music, and who are looking to augment their classical, jazz, and Broadway repertoire.

The arrangement emulates the recording closely, which aids listeners in recognizability, but it does *not* follow the form or length of the recording strictly; the introduction and the ending have been abbreviated.  Rehearsal numbers correspond with song sections. The performance time is approximately 2:49.

It is advised that players listen to the recording of the song while reading the score in order to get an overall feel for how it translates.

I am a member of ASCAP. You may contact me at steve@steveburksmusic.com. Thanks for considering my arrangement.

Composed by Franz Gruber, Harrison Millard. Arranged by Julie Jacobson. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and part. 6 pages. Julie Jacobson #6609441. Published by Julie Jacobson (A0.932672).

This emotional arrangement of the hymns Silent Night and Abide With Me, 'Tis Eventide will be an unforgettable addition to any Christmas program or church service. The arrangement begins prayerfully with Abide With Me, 'Tis Eventide then flows into a reverent rendition of Silent Night. The music then becomes desperate and pleading, finally climaxing triumphantly with the reminder that when one calls upon the Lord to abide with them in their night, He will always answer, All is calm, all is bright. Sleep in heavenly peace. Both viola and piano parts are advanced intermediate. Climax features double stops in the viola part that can easily be simplified with little sacrifice to expression.

By Grant Horsley. By Grant Horsley. Arranged by Grant Horsley. Classical,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Romantic Period,Wedding. 19 pages. Grant Horsley #848860. Published by Grant Horsley (A0.1255345).

The name Nocturne (meaning of the night) was originally an ensemble piece in the 18th century in several movements used for for evening parties. Later In the 19thc it's one movement form, it was adopted by John Field and later popularised by Chopin. It generally has a tranquil lyrical melody and is very romantic and expressive.

I have tried to keep these elements in this Nocturne. Written here for Clarinet in B flat, Viola and Piano, the parts are equally divided. Highest note top D flat ( clarinet once). Bowing for the viola has been left to the performer. It is written in the key of concert B flat minor it has a very gentle opening with harmonies evolving around a cycle of 5th's in places. The piece has three definite sections- the lyrical melody to begin with, a middle section building to a climax before a return to the 1st section. This is followed by a transitional contrasting section (poco piu mosso) wandering through a few keys to settle on an inner pedal tonic note chime. Gentle chords restore the opening once more- this opening theme climaxes towards the end and a gentle reflection of the opening bars concludes the piece.

It is 4 mins 20 in length. Price is for the full score and parts.

Set to intermediate level, but the whole score is on the youtube link for you to assess suitability.

Versions for Flute Duet, Flute and Clarinet Duet and Solo Piano are also available, as is Flute, Bassoon and Piano ensemble.

Composed by Carson Cooman. Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 65 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3024985. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533574).

Quintet for Bassoon and Strings (2005–08) was commissioned by The Commission Project
and is dedicated to Klaus Heymann, in tribute for his invigoration of the classical recording
industry and his enthusiastic support for the composers of our time.
The original conception for the work was devised during an extremely foggy week on
Nantucket Island, Massachusetts in the summer of 2005. It is music deeply connected to the
ocean landscape. Throughout the work, the strings often present a fog-like backdrop,
through which the bassoon’s color emerges like a lighthouse beacon—lyrical and flexible.
The work opens with a series of interlocking, nebulous figurations in the strings that
gradually build in intensity. The bassoon unfolds the work’s basic melodic material in a free
solo that also increases in intensity. At the point of climax, the tempo suddenly slows
dramatically, and a tender, lyrical cantilena emerges. As this music dissolves, a bouncy and
energetic music takes the foreground. It climaxes in a bassoon cadenza. Though the bassoon
has played the leader throughout, this is the first time it is heard unaccompanied. A brief,
but vigorous afterglow recalls the opening of the work. The final section emerges out of it: a
series of high, distant harmonics (perhaps harbor buoys) in the strings through which the
bassoon sings a final song.

Program Notes

Kinderszenen, Op. 15: 1. Von fremden Ländern und Menschen (Of Foreign Lands and Peoples) is a romantic piano piece composed by Robert Schumann in 1838. This piece is a part of Schumann's Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhood) suite. It explores themes of the unfamiliar and a child's curiosity of the world.   Von fremden Ländern und Menschen utilizes a lyrical ABA form set in an ABA ternary meter. The opening melody is soft, nostalgic, and reflective representing the innocence of childhood. The second section begins with a marching-like motif that gradually builds intensity as it progresses, creating feelings of awe and wonder as the music approaches the climax. The piece ends reflecting on the initial melody.   Kinderszenen, Op. 15: 1. Von fremden Ländern und Menschen is an emotionally evocative piece that allows the listener to enter the whimsical world of childhood. The piece’s subtle development makes it a great piece for piano students looking to explore the Romantic era.
