Flute / violin - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q5946 Composed by Andre Campra. This edition: separate part. Eulenburg Orchestral Series. Downloadable, Individual part. Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital #Q5946. Published by Ernst Eulenburg & Co. GmbH - Digital (S9.Q5946). Campra's sacred music includes 5 books of petits motets, the polyphonic Missa ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, the Messe de mort, and a large number of grands motets. All these works demonstrate the composer's mastery of theatrical conventions - descriptive instrumental preludes and dramatically representative scenes are not uncommon - and their style is imbued with the worldly, fashionable Italianate spirit of the time. The Messe de mort is today one of the more frequently performed of Campra's sacred works and it is also one of the most enigmatic scores of his entire output. The occasion of its commission and first performance are unknown. Montagnier, however, proposes the hypothesis that the Messe de mort was expressly composed for the memorial service for Philippe II duc d'Orléans (Campra's patron since 1697) who died at Versailles on 4 February 1723.

String Trio Cello,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1488229 Composed by William Shield. Arranged by Robert Hoskins. Classical. 24 pages. Artaria Editions #1065116. Published by Artaria Editions (A0.1488229). Shield's Trios, written for a continental audience, are seminal works in the composer's output and mark a new level of compositional attainment in the English chamber music repertory. Technically, they contain a wide variety of ideas which are developed with great ingenuity through a wide range of keys, dynamic contrasts and timbral effects. Aesthetically, they blend 'popular' and 'learned' taste along with 'orchestral' splendour and 18th century notions of beauty. The Trios present a dazzling range of moods and style with each work demonstrating Shield's mastery of the idiom, both in his treatment of individual instruments and in the handling of textures. While there is no shortage of melody and accompaniment, in which the violin takes the lead, there are many memorable solos for the viola and the cello in its high register. The wide range of textures includes melodic decoration, dialogue, contrast of high and low register, legato and staccato, powerful unison and double octaves. Shield's ability to incorporate arioso-like melody, the prevailing 'symphonic' style and folk elements was largely achieved through the cross-generic requirements of English comic opera (a form to which Shield devoted himself during the whole of his creative career). In general, Shield's technique results in a firm control of the way music moves - with sometimes a surprising degree of stylistic restlessness and sometimes of unexpected plainness and simplicity. The trios Shield selected for publication were issued by Longman and Broderip, London, in January 1796 under the inspection of the composer. No autograph of these works survives and Longman and Broderip's printing, a copy of which is preserved in the Bodleian Library, Oxford, under the call number Mus.Instr.I 214(15), is the only source of this edition. Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.881669 Composed by Grace Christus. Holiday,Instructional,Standards. Score. 2 pages. Grace Christus #5322305. Published by Grace Christus (A0.881669). The full title is CABBAGE and BEEF or Composing on St. Patrick's Day in the Time of the Coronavirus.  This was a fun exercise in writing a melody made up entirely of letters from the musical alphabet starting, of course, with CABBAGE and BEEF.  It was a fun thing to do as I was sheltering in place during the pandemic.  The challenge was composing a melody that made sense and harmonizing it nicely.  The time signature is 5/4 because these are uncommon times.  There are 13 words that make up the melody.  Can you find all of them?

ISBN 9781513476667. 8.75X11.75 inches. This solo collection presents 19 iconic melodies from the American traditional song book plus 6 modern original compositions by William Bay, president of Mel Bay Publications; all selections have been arranged in tablature for the 5-string banjo in gDGBD tuning by Catalonian multi-instrumentalist and bluegrass specialist, Llu?s G?mez.Any collection of American ballads would be incomplete without settings of the beautiful melodies penned by Stephen Foster, several of which appear here including Beautiful Dreamer, Darling Nellie Gray, I Dream of Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair, and Hard Times, Come Again No More. Some of these tunes are arranged in uncommon banjo keys, all without retuning the banjo or using a capo. Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1164156 Composed by Jeremiah Clarke. Arranged by Jim Hopson. Baroque,Classical,Historic,March,Wedding. Score and Parts. 43 pages. Phonos Music #764501. Published by Phonos Music (A0.1164156). Commonly known as ‘Trumpet Voluntary’, ‘The Prince of Denmark’s March’ is English baroque composer Jeremiah Clarke’s most celebrated work. Commonly played and wedding and commencement ceremonies, this iconic piece has been featured in countless movies, television programmes, and popular music releases. It is arranged here for full symphony orchestra (2222-4231, timp, perc, harp, piano, strings), featuring two trumpets in D (commonly played on A piccolo trumpet) set against a lush and regal backdrop of strings and winds. We believe this arrangement to be the definitive modern orchestration of this piece, using the full tonal palette of the modern symphony orchestra to create an air of majesty and excitement.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1003290 Composed by Dennis Tobenski. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 12 pages. Dennis Tobenski #455753. Published by Dennis Tobenski (A0.1003290). Growl is a short, fast-paced piece for solo piano. The piece is cast in a roughly ABA/fast-slow-fast form, and centers around two musical ideas: a driving left-hand ostinato and a 16-bar melodic line. As the piece opens, the ostinato immediately establishes itself, low and menacing, punctuated by snaps and snarls as it races forward. When we first hear the melodic line, it is soft and distant – almost creepy – and it immediately repeats itself, much louder and more violently. After a brief return to the opening of the piece, we have a moment of respite as the ostinato abruptly drops away, and time stands still for a moment before giving way to a peaceful, ethereal version of the melody. But peace doesn’t last long as the melody becomes increasingly dissonant and violent, culminating in a brutal, crashing cacophony that surges into a triumphal climax. As the grand chords ebb away, the ostinato begins to quietly re-insinuate itself back into the fabric of the piece, building slowly to a return to the opening material and a screaming version of the melodic line. Suddenly, the triumphal chords come thundering back, warring with the ostinato – each interrupting the other, clashing to a frenzied, crashing end. Duration: ca. 5 min. Composed: 2011 Registered with ASCAP. Please email dennis@dennistobenski.com so that your performance of Growl can be added to Dennis' website calendar.
