String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.861933 Composed by Mark O'Connor. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 44 pages. Mark O'Connor Musik International #6208117. Published by Mark O'Connor Musik International (A0.861933). The American Seasons (double basses part â€“ violin and string orchestra) MO148HDouble Basses Part (score and parts available)Music by Mark O’Connor40 pages - 38:00 minutes in length The American Seasons(Seasons Of An American Life)The American Seasons (Seasons Of An American Life) is a concerto for Violin And Chamber Orchestra. Composed in 1999, the music celebrates the various stages of an American life at the waking of the 21st century. Constructed in four movements and representing four stages of life, birth, adolescence, maturity and old age, the music also pays homage to Shakespeare's Seasons Of Man His acts being seven ages, incorporated throughout the work.Spring introduces the ideas of birth and infancy. After the principal theme has been stated, there is a violin cadenza encountering all twelve major keys and a 13/8 time signature representing the ancient golden ratio. These elements recall birth with all the possibilities a new life offers. Ending the movement, the principal theme is repeated with more complexity... as if posing life's questions.Summer represents the excitement and bravado of youthful adolescence and young adulthood. For the style of this movement I use a happy-go-lucky Blues voice which melds into Swing. I identify swing rhythm in all of 20th century American music culture as a common thread that runs through Ragtime through Rock and Roll on to Rap. Swing means testing the waters and pushing the envelope for lovers and soldiers.Fall is the slow movement symbolizing the wisdom of maturity. It is a peaceful theme with nostalgic strokes. It is a time for sincere reflection and enjoying ones accomplishments in life.Winter embodies the complexities and knowledge of an older person and that of a dying person. The movement begins with the principal them from Spring, but with a dissonance that emanates from a lifetime full of emotions and responsibilities. In the middle of the movement is a transition to an old world. I use my personal ancestry from Ireland as a foundation from which to rediscover one's lineage and explore the meaning and value of a cultural legacy. The exploration evolves into a four- and five-part fugue with a reel, jig, air, countered bass and the motif from the principal theme. All these elements, dances and melodies appear simultaneously and converge to form a unique insight to life's consequences from a historical perspective. Following the fugue, the principal theme finds its way back in. It sounds much as it did at birth. In the end, the solo violin cadenza carries the last earthly breaths before the violin and orchestra once again join in harmony to focus on a new life being transformed somewhere else. Life's four seasons in perpetuity. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1999 Composed by Mark O’ConnorCommissioned by the Troy Savings Bank Concert Hall for their 2000 Celebration Can be heard on American Seasons Sony Classical and The Essential Mark O’Connor Sony ClassicalMark O’Connor - violin, Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra, Scott Yoo Catalogue Number MO148HCopyright © 1999 by Mark O’Connor Music International For more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Me.

Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.808754 By Counting Crows. By Adam F. Duritz, Dan Vickrey, David Bryson, David Immergluck, and Matthew Malley. Arranged by B. McCormick. Pop. Guitar Tab. 6 pages. B. McCormick #3520561. Published by B. McCormick (A0.808754). This Sheet Music of this Counting Crow's Classic, Accidentally in Love gives you everything you need to learn this song from start to finish. Designed to strictly follow the songs structure, hence the amount of pages, it gives all the parts in the order they should come if you follow the repeats properly. This song can be found on the Shrek Sound track along with many other great tracks. The chords used in this song are fairly simple. The rhythm and timing and following of the sheet music are where the dificulty in this piece lie. The strum pattern is set out in the initial bars, if a new strum pattern comes in it is indicated. I would work on the main strum pattern and then work on the rhythm in the chorus bars. You may want to try different effects and distortion to get the sound you want, especially for the solo. All in all this piece is for people who have a been playing for a while and have a strong sense of rhythm al though it could be learned by anyone although it would take newer players longer to grasp the changing rhythms. Please connect with me if you like this arrangement. http://barrymccormick.comhttp://facebook.com/barrymccormickmusichttp://instagram.com/barrymccormickmusicYou can also find links to my YouTube and Soundcloud on my website and use the contact forms there to get in touch.

1 Piano,4 Hands,Piano Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1127872 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Score. 12 pages. Philip Le Bas #728481. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1127872). Incidental music composed for piano duet (4-hands) in four parts by Philip Le Bas to accompany the Japanese folk tale (ghost story) Yuki-Onna (Snow Woman). This piano duet developed out of a cross-cultural project initiated at Morley College, London, in early 2019, aiming to create a melodrama for piano solo and spoken voice to be performed in northern Japan later in the year by young students of the piano. It is based on the ghost-story above, which is widely known in Japan. The tale was transcribed and published by Lafcadio Hearn (Koizumi Yakumo) in 1904 as part of his book “Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Thingsâ€, a collection that has been highly influential in expressing popular Japanese culture over the past century. Synopsis of the tale of Yuki-Onna: Two wood-cutters, Mosaku and his apprentice Minokichi, encounter a terrible snow-storm and take shelter in an empty hut by a river. The storm gets worse and worse, but they both finally fall asleep. When Minokichi wakes, he sees a woman all in white bending over Mosaku breathing bright white smoke onto his face. She then approaches Minokichi. She is very beautiful, but her eyes make him afraid. After a while she says, “I intended to do the same to you as I did to the old man, but I feel pity for you because you are a pretty young man. If you ever tell anybody what you have seen, however, I will kill you too.†And she vanishes into the snow storm. It is then that Minokichi discovers Mosaku dead on the floor of the hut. Years later Minokichi meets a beautiful girl, who calls herself O-Yuki. He falls in love with her and they live together in his house, along with his mother, who fortunately takes a liking to her new “honourable daughter-in-law.†Over the years O-Yuki gives birth to ten children and the villagers all agree that she is a wonderful person. But she is somehow different from them, as she continues to look young and fresh, despite the passing years. Minokichi often thinks of telling O-Yuki about the events of years ago, and eventually, as he is gazing at her beauty one night, he can resist it no more. He begins to tell her about the snow storm and the terrifying snow-woman. To his horror O-Yuki becomes more and more angry, and she finally says: “It was me, it was me,… and I said I would kill you if you ever told anyone! But for these children asleep here, I would do so this very moment! You had better take very good care of them; for if ever they have reason to complain of you, I will treat you as you deserve!†As she screams at him her voice becomes thin, like the crying of the wind, and she melts into a bright white mist spiraling into the roof-beams. At that moment it starts to snow, but O-Yuki is never seen again.

Fotheringham.Text:Let Thy Holy Spirit guide, throughout my journey on earth. Thou hast blessed me graciously from the very moment of birth. Let me hold the iron rod. Help me find the way. Lead me to the tree of life to rejoice while still it is the day.Let Thy Holy Spirit guide, May thy tender mercies mercies revealed Lead me to the tree of life. Let me serve Thee,  Thy love to love to  feel.Let Thy Holy Spirit guide, Though strait and narrow the way. Keep me on the path to Thee through the darkness lest I should stray. May I ever find joy in Thee, as my will meets Thine. Let me see Thy countenance, recognizing something there in mine. Let Thy Holy Spirit guide. May my place with Thee be assured.Lead me to the tree of life. Through repentance my ills be cured.Let Thy Holy Spirit guide when mortal life has an end.Let my soul be lifted up to behold Thy presence again. Guide my steps by faith in Thee. Lead me I implore. May I find my place with Thee, there abide to go out nevermore. Let Thy Holy Spirit guide. Neither stranger nor as a guest, Lead me to the tree of life. Let me there find eternal rest.

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1470559 By Reinhold Behringer. By Traditional. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. Contemporary,Traditional. 44 pages. David Warin Solomons #1048222. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1470559). An arrangement for piccolo and orchestra of the Barbara Allen folk song with many interesting cadences, harmonies and countermelodies. In Scarlet Town where I was born,There was a fair maid dwelling,Made every youth cry, “Well-a-day”,Her name was Barbara Allen. All in the merry month of May,When green buds they were swelling,Young Willy Grove on his death bed lay,For love of Barbara Allen. He sent his man down unto her then,To the town where she was dwelling.“You must come to my master dear,If your name's Barbara Allen.”So slowly, slowly she came up,And slowly she came nigh him,And all she said when there she came,“Young man I think you’re dying.”[“A dying man, no, no,” said he,“One kiss from thee would cure me.”“One kiss from me thou never shalt have,If your poor heart was breaking.”]He turned his face unto the wall,And death was drawing nigh him,“Adieu, adieu, my dear friends all,And be kind to Barbara Allen.”As she was walking o’er the fields,She heard the dead-bell knellin’;And every stroke did seem to say“Unworthy Barbara Allen!”When he was laid dead in his grave,Her heart was struck with sorrow,“Oh mother, mother make my bed,For I shall die tomorrow.”And on her death bed she lay,She begged to be buried by him,And so repented of the day,That she did e’er deny him.“Farewell”, she said, “You virgins all,And shun the fault I fell in.Hence forth take warning by the fall,Of cruel Barbara Allen.”.

Voice Duet Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576909 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Blues,Pop. 14 pages. David Warin Solomons #516085. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576909). I am so happy that smoking in enclosed public places is now illegal in the UK and in many other countries, but this song was written in the 1980s when people had to breath the pollution created by inconsiderate smokers, and, of course, there are still countries where this is the case. So I decided to publish the song even though the battle is thankfully won here. The sound sample is my own performance with some additional (un-notated) improvisations on cello and vibraphone. The pdf file contains the score and parts.  The music has also been arranged as an instrumental duo called Laid back bounce, also available on this site.  I went out this morning along the way to work  when without warning I was faced with clouds of murk  refrain: Sing Down with the smokers who infect the air with clouds hate their unthinking uncaring unblinking hate the stinking coughing crowds!  I went down to the station and was waiting for my train  but to my irritation the stinkers were there again.  [refrain]  Wouldn't it be pleasant to enjoy a drink in a theatre bar discussing the play  or wouldn't it be jolly just to sing along with pals in a cozy pub along the way  or wouldn't it be nice to go any where and not have to share with every breath some secondhand smoke and firsthand death.  [refrain]  I was eating my fav'rite curry but the air was getting thick and I felt I had to hurry because the smokers made me feel sick  [refrain]  It's fine bright hot and sunny and I'd love to have a drink  but why spend time and money where the smokers sit and stink?  [refrain]  Wouldn't it be pleasant just to pass the time at a social do or a meeting hall  or wouldn't it be jolly to dance the night away with the one you love at a disco or ball  wouldn't it be nice to go any where and not have to share with every breath some secondhand smoke and firsthand death  [refrain].

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Flute - Digital Download SKU: A0.1016583 Composed by R. Currier III. Contemporary. 12 pages. R. Currier III #6114151. Published by R. Currier III (A0.1016583). This contemporary piece for flute choir is slightly unsettling and a little eerie in a drifty, floating way. The piece should be performed with no feeling of time or pulse. All five flute parts are of equal importance, and the piece can be scaled to accommodate any increment of five flutes: 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. In larger numbers, the total number of players does not need to be divisible by five, as the mass effect will cover any shortage of one flute on a part. Currier III #6183835. Published by R. Currier III (A0.1016590). A perfect piece to inject a note of solemnity into a contemporary program, this work was composed as part of a multi-arts initiative at the New Britain Museum of American Art designed to bring attention to the issue of homelessness. All five instruments - flute, oboe, violin, cello and piano - feature equally in this work, and all are integral to its success. The piece features frequent shifts in meter, rubato sections where the feel of pulse and barline disappear, and percussive finger tapping on instrument bodies. Thanks for stopping by to check out outside. Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1349231 Composed by Todd Marchand. Christian,Sacred,Traditional. 16 pages. Con Spirito Music #933976. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1349231). Three Evening Canticles were written as part of a setting of choral evensong for Church of the Holy Apostles - Anglican, Fort Worth, Texas. Metrical, mostly homophonic, and conservative in technical challenges and ranges, these canticles are accessible for small choirs and those of moderate ability, yet musically satisfying for large and accomplished groups. Phos Hilaron (“O Gladsome Lightâ€) is one of the earliest known Christian hymns (ca. 3rd-4th century) recorded outside of the Bible. Intended to be sung at the kindling of lights in the evening, it is sometimes known as the “lamp-lighting hymn†and has been adopted by some Anglican bodies as an optional invitatory canticle immediately preceding the psalm(s) appointed for the day.Magnificat (The Song of Mary) is a scriptural canticle based on an account in the Gospel of Luke (1:46-55). Mary, the expectant mother of Jesus, visits her cousin  Elizabeth, the expectant mother of John the Baptist, who will prophetically proclaim the coming of the Messiah. Elizabeth praises Mary for her faith and subjection to God’s will, and Mary responds, “My soul doth magnify the Lord ... for he that is mighty hath magnified me ... and his mercy is on them that fear him throughout all generations.†The Magnificat is said or sung immediately after the first lesson (scripture reading) in the service of evening prayer. Nunc Dimittis (The Song of Simeon) is also a scriptural canticle taken from Luke (2:29-32).  Simeon, a devout Jew, had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he had seen the Messiah. When Mary and Joseph bring the infant Jesus to the Temple in Jerusalem for the ceremony of redemption of the firstborn son, Simeon takes the child into his arms and says “Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace ... for mine eyes have seen thy salvation.†The Nunc Dimittis is said or sung after the second lesson in evening prayer.Texts for these settings are from The Book of Common Prayer (2019), Traditional Language Edition, according to the use of the Anglican Church in North America, and they are largely the texts of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England.©Copyright 2023 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). This lovely, lyrical, 50s-style ballad will take you right back to summer nights at the drive-in, poodle skirts, sock hops, and Little Richard on the jukebox. Arranged for saxophone quartet, (S, A, T, Bari), this original piece is great as a way to feature the sax players in a larger ensemble or a colorful addition to an all-quartet program. Any of the main sections of the piece can be repeated as a vehicle for improvisation. The download includes a transposed score, a full set of parts, and a standard, concert-key lead sheet.
