Piano,Trombone - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548699 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Standards. Score and part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411147. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548699). A Trombone Christmas/Easter classic! Duration: 4:55 Score: 3 pg. Trombone part: 1 pg. Piano reads from the score. Schubert seems to have composed this piece as a song-setting. This is because he wanted to portray a poignant emotional event from a poem. The poem was Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake. Consequently, this song became an integral part of Schubert's Song cycle. Therefore the cycle is called: the Lady of the Lake. In the poem, Ellen Douglas is the Lady of the Lake. The lake is probably Loch Katrine in the Scottish Highlands. First of all, Ellen goes with her father to stay in the Goblin's cave. They go because he earlier refused to join in a rebellion against King James. Roderick Dhu, the chief of the rebellious Alpine Clan, marches up the mountain with his army. But before the battle, he, first of all, hears Ellen singing. She is singing a prayer calling for help from the Virgin Mary. Schubert's piece was first performed at the castle of Countess Sophie Weissenwolff in Steyregg, Austria.  Schubert dedicated the arrangement to her, and as a result, she became famous as the lady of the lake. The incipit of Ellen's song is Ave Maria which is Latin for Hail Mary. It seems like this similarity led Schubert to adapt the melody to accommodate the Roman Catholic prayer Ave Maria. Consequently, the Latin version of Ave Maria finally became more famous than the original so that consequently many believe he wrote the Latin version first. Schubert Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was, in fact, a famous Austrian composer. Moreover, he composed during the late Classical and early Romantic periods. Schubert was comparatively prolific. He wrote more than 600 secular vocal works, seven symphonies, and, correspondingly, a massive amount of piano and chamber music. Critics agree, as a matter of fact, that his most famous works include his Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (also known as the Trout Quintet), the Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (Unfinished Symphony), the last sonatas for piano (D. 958–960), and the song cycles Die schöne Müllerin (D. 795) and Winterreise (D. 911). Education Schubert was furthermore a musical child prodigy. He studied violin with his father as well as piano with his older brother. In addition, when Schubert was eleven he studied at Stadtkonvikt school, where he became familiar with the orchestral music of Haydn, Mozart, and likewise Beethoven. In due time he left school and returned home where he studied to become an educator; nevertheless, he continued studying composition with Antonio Salieri. Performance Eventually, Schubert was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde as a performer. This appointment straightaway established his name in Vienna as a composer and pianist. Finally, he gave his only composition recital in 1828. He died suddenly a few months later probably due to typhoid fever. Legacy Schubert’s music was by and large underappreciated while he was alive. There were all in all only a few enthusiasts in Vienna. After he died, however, interest in his work in fact increased. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular.

Easy Piano - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033516 Composed by Lynne Cox. Children,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score. 4 pages. Lynne Coc Publications #638816. Published by Lynne Coc Publications (A0.1033516). Green, in Lynne Cox's new series, Box of Paints, is a secondary color that results from mixing the two primary colors, yellow and blue. Green symbolizes nature, the environment, harmony, and tranquility, as well as growth and renewal-as in the green growth of spring. It is considered restful-many doctors' and dentists' offices are painted this color to calm the patient! For these reasons, the tempo/mood indication is 'tranquilly'. Lyrics depict restful, tranquil scenes of nature and the flow of the music laid back. Rather a softly performed piece with nothing louder than mp. A sections utilize hands in middle C position with RH mindful of the F#. Divided melody here between hands. B section also displays divided melody but with an entirely different melody. Because of the 8va the piece covers 2 octaves. In m. 10 (likewise in m. 34) The right hand is set up for a 5-finger D position since melody reaches up to A easily by arranging a fingering change. Form: intro A B A coda Key of G major Time signature Intro begins with dotted-half notes alternating between hands on Gs covering 4 octaves, damper pedal held over all 4 measures here. Students asked if the Gs were because it is the first letter of green! Coda same as intro except for a ritardando at end. Touches: entire piece very legato requiring the fingers to produce this in A sections, not relying on damper pedal as the intro and coda do. As in all of solos in this series, Box of Paints, the piece is designed to be open-ended encouraging and inspiring the student to think of things they like in this color and compose their own lyrics, even composing their own music about their favorite color. Great recital and/or contest and/or festival lists. Lynne performs the vocals and piano on the following you tube link. Lynne also arranged this piece as an instrumental only with many additions such as instrumental voicing and different instruments entitled 'Green Instrumental', also on you tube. Woodwind Ensemble Clarinet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.908411 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by John M. Licari. Classical,Concert,Standards. 33 pages. Music Preparation Services #5735847. Published by Music Preparation Services (A0.908411). Allegro from Eine Klein NachtmusikBy Wolfgang Amadeus MozartArranged for Clarinet Choir by John M. LicariMusic Preparation Serviceswww.musicprepservices.comEine kleine Nachtmusik (K. 525), is a 1787 composition by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The German title means a little serenade, though it is often rendered more literally as a little night music. The work is written for an ensemble of two violins, viola, and cello with optional double bass but is often performed by string orchestras.  The work was completed in Vienna on 10 August 1787,[2] around the time Mozart was working on the second act of his opera Don Giovanni.  This first movement is in sonata-allegro form. It opens with an ascending Mannheim rocket theme. The second theme is more graceful and in D major, the dominant key of G major. The exposition closes in D major and is repeated. The development section begins on D major and touches on D minor and C major before the work returns to G major for the recapitulation. This arrangement has been adapted to accommodate a clarinet choir - 3 Bb Clarinets, and a Bass Clarinet.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.922044 Composed by Henri Abraham Cesar Malan (1787-1864). Arranged by Denny Glasscock. Christian,Jazz,Praise & Worship. Score and parts. 40 pages. Denny Glasscock #6058077. Published by Denny Glasscock (A0.922044). The original public domain hymn has been modified to a Big Band style jazz piece. It's been designed to be played by large or small instrumental ensembles. It uses swing eighth note rhythms and incorporates most of the usual instruments of a concert band or orchestra, or jazz ensemble. Lyrics are not included, however it retains all six verses as it goes through key changes and a D.S. al Coda. Thus the lyrics from a hymn book could be used to sing all six verses. The first verse is a slow chorale style passage. Then it goes to fast tempo jazz style, much like a New Orleans style derge, or funeral march. The piece is 2:45 minutes in length, but could be shortened, by about 50 seconds, by playing straight through without taking the D.S. al Coda. It would also make an impressive half time show piece for marching band. A performance/play along track is available separately - see item number S0.873189.

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.933525 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, Cees Nieuwenhuizen. Arranged by Upstream Music. Classical. Score and parts. 56 pages. Upstream Music #6353323. Published by Upstream Music (A0.933525). There are four known works of Beethoven for the violin and orchestra genre. They were written during the 1790-1806 period. These are the Violin Romance in G major Opus 40, the Violin Romance in F major Opus 50, the Violin Concerto in D major Opus 61 (1806) and the earlier Violin Concerto in C major WoO 5 (Hess 10). The latter was left to us as a fragment which Beethoven most probably composed in Bonn, between 1790 and 1792. The fragment contains 259 bars, fully written out and than stops abruptly….as if the score was torn in two. The composition is broken off exactly 15 bars into the development. The motif in the last known bars 258 and 259 initiated the task of joining the development as reliably as possible to the rest of the work.In the additional 258 bars, Cees took Beethovenꞌs material into consideration; also in the development, reprise and coda. The most remarkable is the coda. Cees uses a third related key here, which may seem strange at first but was used more often by Beethoven himself, for example in his Violin Concerto in D major Opus 61. It was necessary to compose this work backwards in a manner of speaking. In other words: Cees had to give all the global lines that Beethoven had so masterfully written as correct a place as possible in the score. With respect to earlier completions by colleagues, Cees did not set out by literally copying and transposing the exposition in the reprise. His aim was to write a completion as creatively as possible and still use Beethovenꞌs material and intricate weave ofvoices to the full. Hopefully this completed version will be a respected contribution to the rich violin literature

Friends shouldn't just hang out in fair weather, so here is All Weather Friends, a gentle swing waltz ideal for established intermediate players at about the Grade 4-5 standard (ABRSM).The melody and accompaniment is based upon a classic jazz waltz rhythm, so to get into the feel of this piece, you may find it useful to first practice clapping this rhythm:Remember that the quaver eighth notes are swung. The trick with this piece is to let the melody sing out above the jazz waltz accompaniment, so keep an ear on the melody at all times. In bar 21, the semiquaver 16th notes can be played a little faster than written, which will create more of a 'turn' ornament. Have a listen to the performance recording clip (above) at about halfway through to get the idea. This jazz waltz piano sheet music provides excellent practice for working on phrasing and sustain pedal technique. Occasionally, you may find a couple of hand position changes that risk disrupting the flow of the melodic phrase. In these instances, try a touch of sustain pedal to smooth out the transition. An example of this can be found in bar 31.After the repeated opening melody, the middle section moves into the key of G minor, featuring a rising arpeggio-based accompaniment with sustain pedal. There is a lot of quaver eighth-note movement in this section, so be sure to keep this rhythm smoothly swinging in the usual triplet manner:This middle section reaches a crescendo at bar 37 with a rippling chord effect between both hands. Try experimenting with different ways of splitting up these chords - you could ripple up from the left hand to the right hand, or try rippling both hands at the same time. Stick with whatever sounds good to you! After a poco rall the original melody returns via a D.C. al Coda. As is the convention for first and second time repeat bars, take the second time bar on the D.C. and then to the Coda. The play-along MP3 backing track for this sheet music is also available to download at Sheet Music Plus.Explore more fun piano sheet music by Olly Wedgwood at https://OllysPianoSheets.com I hope you enjoy All Weather Friends, whatever the weather!

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1431985 Composed by Gerald W. Gabbard. 21st Century. Score. 3 pages. Gerald W. Gabbard #1012463. Published by Gerald W. Gabbard (A0.1431985). This is the second of eight waltzes I composed between September 2020 and April 2024. This was the second waltz I wrote, and the second during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a gentle piece with a sense of a dream-like dance. The form is A-B-A'-A-Coda. It starts off in D and centers around the key of D, until the end, when the Coda transports the listener to an ending in G. Think of it like the dancers in the dream disappearing from sight.Regarding articulation: I use tenuto and accent + tenuto marks frequently in my compositions. I tend to use them mostly as indications for the melody and/or notes that should be emphasized or brought out. I never intend the accent + tenuto to be harsh, but it should be stronger than the tenuto alone.I intend to have a collection of all eight waltzes available for sale in addition to individual pieces. The available recording on Arrange Me and Sheet Music Plus is an export from Finale – not a live performance. Note, Finale did not keep the tempo consistent throughout. Do not slow down in the B section staring in mm. 13.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!Gerald Gabbard.
