Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1164054 Composed by Bruno Tapia. Jazz. Score and parts. 58 pages. Bruno Tapia #764395. Published by Bruno Tapia (A0.1164054). Gato de Callejón is my first big band piece. It was presented to the first CORFO BAE composition contest for student bands during 2022, resulting on a 4th place. This piece has as reference the swing sonorities used on several OST's of classical series (as Top Cat), and because of that, widely extended on the colective inconscient. Creating a work on this style responds to the necessity of fomenting the musical creation on this kind of languages, and in particular, on big band. This was my first time using closed voicings on rule. There's harmonicly a pair of relatively simple turnarounds. In this case, I exceeded the difficulty grades of the contest (3-4), and I had a work mostly near to the grade 5 on Hal Leonard's Instrumental Music Scale.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158195 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Film/TV,Instructional. 41 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758471. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158195). A hypercube is a theoretical cuboid-like fourth-dimensional object. In an attempt to explain spatial dimentions, I created an 18-minute video presentation titled “Dimensions Unfurled†exposing some initial fallacies of common thought, which can be seen on YouTube. All of the music for the above-mentioned video is original. There are two trumpet duets in the section that depicts a hypercube net folding into a hypercube model, starting at 13’20†and 14’51, respectively. Both duets are published in a collection titled “Fifteen-Course Dinner for Two†(available through Gilded Music Press). The two duets share thematic material, and are combined and greatly expanded for this present major six-minute work for brass quintet, “Building a Hypercubeâ€. The first short duet, “Drawing a Hypercube Netâ€, is presented as the quintet’s introduction, quite faithfully to the original, shared through five parts with harmonic expansion. The material from the second duet is essentially unadulterated starting at measure 27, spanning through measure 70 (up to letter D). From there, the development of thematic material is extensive and interesting, morphing into Escher-types of additional themes and melodies, many of which overlap and intertwine in a fascinatingly complex manner. This unsettling compositional style is indicative of years of profound pondering to fathom the mysterious matter of the fourth spatial dimension. Musically the piece is motivically and thematically unified. All the parts share in the rhythmic complexity fitting for the ponderous topic. The form is roughly sonata form with an introduction and coda, though the recapitulation (Del Segno) occurs in its original key. The majority of the piece (about three minutes, almost exactly half) is the symbolically explorative development section, from D to O. A point of interest: in spite of the piece’s high harmonic rhythm, the introduction is diatonically modal (G Mixolydian). The exposition, after a brief building transition, shifts to the relative D Dorian mode. The lengthy development section shifts tonal centers throughout, visiting various major and minor keys. Beginning at letter O, modality returns for a smooth transition into the recapitulation. The piece ends with an exhilarating coda.

Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796595 Composed by Gary D. Belshaw. Folk,Holiday,Patriotic. Score and parts. 196 pages. DR GARY D BELSHAW #2958023. Published by DR GARY D BELSHAW (A0.796595). Set of Parts. 194 pages, letter format sheets, intended to be printed in booklet format; blank sheets are included to make each part come out with the appropriate number of pages.Composed for the U. S. Naval Academy Band, the Navy's oldest band, and the third oldest military ban in the United States. The march is a tribute to the ensemble in honor of its 150th Anniversary and premiered at their gala Sesquicentennial concert in 2003. In 6/8 meter, the march features a chromatic Introduction built on a 12-tone row. The First and Second strains (in F Major) are lively, bright, and completely tonal. The incipit of the trio (in B-flat) consists of the first four notes of Anchors Aweigh. This is significant for the USNA Band because it was composed by Lt. Charles A. Zimmermann, selected as Bandmaster of the ensemble in 1887 at the age of 26, and Midshipman First Class Alfred Hart Miles, supposed while seated at the Naval Academy Chapel organ. The trio is played three times; the first is interrupted by the Break Strain. The Introduction then serves to both conclude the Break Strain and to transition into the first repeat of the Tiro, this time featuring the saxophone section on the countermelody. One more Break Strain and Introduction builds to the final statement of the Trio, with coda and triplet stinger. The conductor's score is available separately right here in Sheet Music Plus.

When using it as an interlude, please note that in the first bar in the coda of the second part an accidental symbol is used, which is not valid in the long version. The PDF contains a full score, a condensed score and three copies of every part (I-IV) in C, Bb, Eb, F, respectively. Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.755114 Composed by Sy Brandon. 20th Century,Concert,Contemporary. Score and parts. 177 pages. Sy Brandon #3392241. Published by Sy Brandon (A0.755114). Concertino was composed during 2009 at the request of Dr. Andy Wen and premiered by him at the Region 4 NASA Conference in April 2011. The work is in three movements. The first movement is in an abbreviated sonata form in a spirited Vivace tempo. The first theme group consists more of motives rather than an actual theme and is characterized by interplay between the soloist and the band. The second theme group has a lyrical saxophone line over a staccato bass line. The development begins quietly with the treatment of a syncopated idea from the second theme using a trio of solo saxophone, timpani and euphonium. After further development, a variant of the first theme group returns. The recapitulation consists only of first theme group ideas before ending with a brief coda. The second and third movements are performed with out pause between them. While the first movement was created during 2009, the second and third movements are a reworking of an earlier work by the composer for alto saxophone and piano soloists with orchestra. A rubato Lento theme containing many triplets that is accompanied by lush harmony begins the second movement. It is followed by a more scale-wise melody that is treated contrapuntally. Both these ideas develop during the movement leading to a strong climax before returning to a quiet conclusion. The third movement is an Allegro, once again with a rhythmic opening idea that changes meter often, and a more lyrical second idea with scale-wise passages as counterpoint. The development of these ideas leads to a cadenza for the solo saxophonist, followed by a coda that brings the composition to a rousing conclusion. The score prints on legal size paper and the parts on letter.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.799420 Composed by Drake Mabry. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and parts. 77 pages. Drake Mabry #516755. Published by Drake Mabry (A0.799420). Arnage is a commission, a 1991 Commande d'Etat from the French government. The work is named after the town in which it was premiered. The first movement is slow and atmospheric with the solo trombone weaving in and out of the accompaniment. Despite a short interlude where the tempo picks up followed by a cadenza, the piece returns to the original quiet and atmospheric nature of the beginning. The second movement is vigorous and dynamic. The animated trombone is punctuated by rhythmic comments from the ensemble. The work winds down to a quiet passage before being taken back by the vigorous ensemble. This continues to the wild coda to the end. The duration is 12 minutes. This is a manuscript score, thus the reduced price. The Premiere was by Pascal Renou, trombone, with the Harmonie Municipal d’Arnage conducted by Francis Rouillard in Arnage, France on June 12, 1992.
