String Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.953398 Composed by Pierre Phalèse. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Renaissance. Score and parts. 17 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #559137. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.953398). Following from the success of the Hits of the Renaissance for Strings, featuring well-known dances from Terpsichore by Michael Praetorius, this arrangement is from another classic book of dances from the same period. Pierre Phalèse (1510-1575) was a Flemish publisher and his First Book of Dances, an extensive collection of dances in four parts, was published in Leuven in 1571. They are attractive pieces and are sure to be popular at any concerts, public recitals or end-of-semester events. This arrangement is for virtually any string ensemble and the single PDF file incudes a full score and parts for violin 1, violin 2, viola (violin 3), cello and bass (combined), keyboard and simple percussion. An additional two melody parts are provided in treble and bass clef and the chords (for optional guitar) are shown in both keyboard and bass parts. In the spirit of the original publication of 1571, you can add to the melody line any other C-pitch instruments that happen to be available. Even the additional of a couple of recorders will enhance the sound. Alternatively, you can do opposite and create a pleasing contrast by omitting instruments for certain sections. The audio demo will give you an idea how this might be achieved. While you can add flute, recorder, oboe, glockenspiel or whatever you want, additional instruments are not essential but can add contrasting tone colour. The keyboard part is intended as a guide and when possible, the keyboard player should feel free to improvise around the part and the chords shown. A piano is distinctly out of place in this music and a digital or acoustic harpsichord sounds more authentic. Most electronic keyboards have a harpsichord option. The optional percussion instruments used are similar to those found in elementary school music rooms and usually include a tambour or hand-held drum, antique (finger) cymbals, wood-blocks and tambourine. Two or three players can be used and the parts can be interpreted quite freely. Dance music is intended to be fun, and we hope that this arrangement brings you just that.

Easy Piano - Digital Download SKU: A0.850169 Composed by A. Reinagle, Anton Diabelli, F.J. Haydn, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Leopold Mozart. Arranged by Leah Ginzburg. Baroque,Classical,Concert,Renaissance,World. Score. 10 pages. Leah Ginzburg #6428283. Published by Leah Ginzburg (A0.850169). Five classical dances (17th, 18th century) 3 Minuets, Bagatelle and Quadrille. Composers: J.S. Bach, Leopold Mozart, A. Reinagle, A. Diabelli, F. J. Haydn. Easy piano solo version for beginners arranged by Leah Ginzburg A Minuet, sometimes spelled Menuet or Menuett, is a social dance of French origin from around the 1660s, usually in 3/4 time. The minuet was to 18th century ballrooms what the Waltz would be in the 19th century, the enduring Queen of dances. The Quadrille is a dance that was fashionable in late 18th- and 19th-century Europe and its colonies. The quadrille consists of a chain of four to six contredanses.

Violin Solo - Digital Download SKU: A0.1015091 Composed by Dane Anthony Madrigal. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. 6 pages. Dane Anthony Madrigal #6207809. Published by Dane Anthony Madrigal (A0.1015091). COMPOSER’S NOTESFinding Time To Dance is a piece that is dedicated to the Department of Dance at Chapman University. The piece is found in a world of high rhythmical contrast and virtuosic playing, especially on the part of the percussionist. The idea for this piece comes from wanting to fade varied rhythmic groups with a Klezmer style of violin playing. After working through the piece, what I found most exciting is the absolute wonkiness that it has in every section. As the piece develops in time, the sense of meter becomes less concrete.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,English Horn,Flute,Oboe - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811665 Composed by Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828). Arranged by Pat Spence. Concert,Romantic Period,Wedding,World. 28 pages. Piper Publications #3435943. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811665). The original piano pieces have been arranged for wind quintet by Pat Spence. The popularity of the waltz in Vienna began during the 1820s when it was still  developing from a lively peasant dance popular amongst all classes into its later, more elegant phase. These dances were written after 1824 - probably for Schubert's own gatherings and published by Schubert for use in the large dance halls which were all the rage at the time.  The three dances would have been played as one continuous piece for dancing and the tempo would not alter.
