A Trick of the Tail is the seventh studio album by English progressive rock band Genesis. It was released on 13 February 1976 on Charisma Records and was the first album to feature drummer Phil Collins as lead vocalist following the departure of Peter Gabriel. It was a critical and commercial success in the UK and U.S., reaching No. 3 and No. 31 respectively. The opening track, Dance on a Volcano, was the first song written for the album. Rutherford felt that, in contrast to the material on The Lamb..., it was easy to write, and was intended to show how Genesis would move forward.

Suite Grandkids contains six pieces originally scored for classical guitar trio, one for each of the grandkids that I had at that time (2005). I decided to write lyrics for each movement, creating a version for voice (male and/or female) and classical guitar, then expanding it to this version for SATB Choir with classical guitar and percussion. The percussion parts are easy and meant to be performed by members of the choir. The picture of my grandkids looks like a poster for cultural diversity. Their varied genetic backgrounds presented an opportunity to compose an eclectic suite with each piece presenting a style representative of their unique genetic heritage. Performance time for the entire suite is 23 minutes but each piece could stand alone on a concert program. This download is the score for the first movement, Riely's Dance. Performance time is 5 minutes. Demand level is mostly intermediate with a few advanced sections. They are a compilation of sketches pulled together at the same time (including harmonizations of barely disguised well-known TV tunes) for the fun of this occasion. The intent is celebratory and light, jovial. The piece is in three movements, roughly 4 minutes each: Shanty Bagatelle - Cutting the Rug - Quodlibet Romp. Separate violin part included.
