Borodin, a chemistry professor, composed relatively few works, but they were of high quality, notable for their luscious melody. The Polovetsian Dances from his unfinished opera Prince Igor are particularly fine, and the melody from this one, along with several from other works, was used in the 1953 musical Kismet.CYPRESS PUBLISHING is pleased to be the imprint for arrangements for string ensemble by Stephen Levintow.
