Tango d’Elinora is an exciting original composition by David McKeown, arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Oboe. This duet is written in the style of early twentieth century Tango music. String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1411466 Composed by Keaton Springfield. Classical,Contemporary. 111 pages. Songburd Music #993732. Published by Songburd Music (A0.1411466). Suite for Strings in D is an original work that draws its inspiration from previous classical composers of the genre—individuals that set evolving standards in the medium over centuries—including Antonín Dvořák, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Edvard Grieg, and Peter Warlock.  The Suite for Strings in D was written to capture some of the stylistic elements found among the works of these composers using musical motives from Keaton’s sketchbooks that have been consolidated into a dance suite with a general four-voice texture to produce a lyrical suite for strings.Stylistic emulations are visible throughout the Suite for Strings in the “Waltz†(Tchaikovsky), the two-part “Ouverture†(Purcell and Corelli), the “Rigaudon†(Peter Warlock), and “La Réjouissance†(Handel).  The suite’s fourth movement, “Alla Marcia,†conveys Keaton’s personal style apart from the other movements’ emulations.

Gordon Cherry #731938. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1131722). George Frederic Handel's Sarabande & Variations from Suite No. 4 in D minor for Brass Quintet is a stately dance in a melancholy mood with two variations originally composed for harpsichord. The work of 4 minutes in length is appropriate for moderately advanced performers and makes a great contrasting work on a program or recital.

Woodwind Ensemble - Digital Download SKU: A0.1189586 Composed by Reynaldo Hahn. Arranged by Paul Kajzar. Romantic Period. 29 pages. Paul Kajzar, Gyllcott Music #789219. Published by Paul Kajzar, Gyllcott Music (A0.1189586). An arrangement for wind dectet (2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons and 2 horns) of the courante from Reynaldo Hahn’s suite Le Bal de Beatrice d’Este. Composed around 1905, the 7 movement suite evokes the atmosphere of the late 15th century court in Milan, with many of the movements taking the names of dance forms of that era. The piece was originally scored for an ensemble of wind, horns, trumpet, piano, harps and percussion. The courante is wonderfully civilised music and has great charm, and would serve well as a calm interlude in the context of a longer recital. The set comprises full score and parts. Difficulty level : Intermediate/Advanced.
