Inspired by a professional jazz band leader from the 1940's and his relative, the composer wrote this jazz work in honor of the Kingsway College Philharmonic Wind Ensemble, in Oshawa, Ontario Canada. By doing so, the ensemble was provided with instruction in jazz ensemble, providing them with fulfilling the Provincial requirement in this vein. A Little Jazz is sure to be a favorite of any concert or marching band.
