The piece begins with an ode to nature, peace, and harmony. Water murmurs softly in the rivers, the wind sings through the treetops, and melodies weave together, wrapping the world in tranquility. Then, suddenly, the sky darkens, and high-pitched notes take control, taming the elements and imposing their rhythm. But soon, the deep notes rise, claiming sovereignty in turn and seizing the forces of nature. Peace tries to return, seeking to restore the harmonies of the beginning, but it falters, hesitant. The ending suggests that everything will need to be reinvented, redefined.

La pièce commence par une ode à la nature, à la paix, et à l'harmonie. L'eau murmure doucement dans les rivières, le vent chante dans les cimes des arbres, et des mélodies se tissent, enveloppant le monde de quiétude. Puis, soudain, le ciel s'obscurcit, et les notes aiguës prennent le dessus, domptant les éléments et imposant leur cadence. Mais bientôt, les graves se lèvent, réclamant à leur tour la souveraineté et s'emparant des forces de la nature. La paix tente de revenir, cherchant à retrouver les harmonies du début, mais elle trébuche, hésitante. La fin laisse entrevoir qu'il faudra tout réinventer, tout redéfinir.

Program note.

I saw Clare perform with the NEC Symphony Orchestra a couple of years ago in Jordan Hall. She played principle cello and had several solo features in the program. I was so impressed with her performance that I hired her to participate in several recordings of my music. She played cello in my string quartet, Sodium, my Octet in D, and my song cycle Alice.

She is now a senior at NEC, and I decided that as a parting gift I would write a cello duet for her. The end result is Concerto Barocco for cello and piano.

Concerto Barocco like the Bach dance suites is in six sections.

Tequila è un celebre brano latin rock eseguito da The Champs nel 1958, reinterpretato in seguito da molti altri artisti.
Il brano è stato scritto dal sassofonista Danny Flores, accreditato con il suo nome d'arte, Chuck Rio, perché in quel periodo egli era sotto contratto con un'altra etichetta discografica. Tequila è basata su un ritmo cubano mambo beat. La parola tequila viene gridata tre volte durante il brano.

La versione originale del brano, incisa da The Champs il 23 dicembre 1957, è stata pubblicata il 15 gennaio del 1958 dalla Challenge Records come retro del singolo su 7 Train to Nowhere/Tequila. In seguito è stata inclusa nell'EP 7 Go, Champs, Go! e nell'LP avente lo stesso titolo, entrambi pubblicati nel 1958.

La canzone raggiunse il primo posto nelle classifiche pop e R&B, e continuerà a essere un importante riferimento della cultura pop fino ai nostri giorni.

Successivamente The Champs proporranno variazioni e riarrangiamenti di questo brano negli album Great Dance Hits e Spotlight On The Champs & The Fabulous Cyclones, entrambi del 1962, con i titoli Tequila Twist e Too Much Tequila. Nel primo caso su ritmo twist, nel secondo in versione calypso.

Ange Flégier (1846–1925) was born in Marseilles and also died there. He

« Boulevard Pey Arnaud » est une composition soliste pour guitare inspirée par le lieu où se trouve ma maison, dans un environnement protégé, entourée de forêts de pins et traversée par un petit ruisseau nommé « l’eau bourde ». Depuis quatre décennies, ce cadre enchanteur a nourri mon inspiration, m’offrant un refuge de sérénité. Chaque note de cette courte balade est imprégnée des souvenirs heureux de mes enfants grandissant sur ce boulevard, leurs rires et jeux résonnant parmi les arbres. « Boulevard Pey Arnaud » est une ode à la nature, à la famille et aux moments de paix trouvés dans ce quartier.

Boulevard Pey Arnaud is a solo composition for guitar inspired by the place where my house is located, in a protected environment, surrounded by pine forests and crossed by a small stream called l’eau bourde. For four decades, this enchanting setting has nourished my inspiration, offering me a refuge of serenity. Every note of this short stroll is imbued with the happy memories of my children growing up on this boulevard, their laughter and games echoing among the trees. Boulevard Pey Arnaud is an ode to nature, family and the moments of peace found in this neighborhood.
