Large Ensemble Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.553948 Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Classical. Score and parts. 55 pages. RayThompsonMusic #6328785. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.553948). Les petits riens (French for The Little Nothings) is a ballet in one act and three tableaux by Jean-Georges Noverre, with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and other unknown composers, possibly including François-Joseph Gossec[citation needed], first performed at the Academie Royale de Music in Paris on 11 June 1778.While Mozart was staying in Paris, Noverre asked him to compose a new score for a ballet that he had created in Vienna in 1767. The ballet was to be danced as an interlude in the new opera Le finte gemelle by Niccolò Piccinni.[1] The opera was a flop and closed after four performances. Although the ballet music was well-received,[2] Mozart was not credited with it, and he was at the time little-known in Paris. An arrangement for wind dectet of movts. 6 to 13. String Quartet String Quartet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.798083 Composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Arranged by Inacio Saldanha. Contemporary. Score and parts. 13 pages. Inacio Saldanha #5023901. Published by Inacio Saldanha (A0.798083). Chega de Saudade (Brazilian Portuguese: ['ʃega dÊ’i saw'dadÊ’i]) (published English version is No More Blues) is a bossa nova jazz standard. It is often considered to be the first recorded bossa nova song. The music was composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim and the lyrics were written by Vinícius de Moraes. João Gilberto's recording is the most famous. The song was first recorded in 1957 by Brazilian singer Elizete Cardoso and released on her 1958 album entitled Canção Do Amor Demais; however, the public took little notice of her release. João Gilberto included the second recorded version of the track in 1958. Released as a single, the song became a hit and would solidify bossa nova as a permanent genre in the Latin music lexicon. The song also appeared on Gilberto's first album Chega De Saudade. The title can be translated roughly as enough longing, though the Portuguese word, saudade, carries with it a far more complex meaning. The word implies an intensity of heartfelt connection that is yearned for passionately, not unlike feeling withdrawal symptoms from a drug that makes one feel good. Another good analogy might be an intense homesickness. Chega, in this case, means no more, enough. The song form is 64 measures. It is equally split between 32 measures in a minor key and the 32 measures in a major key. The key of the original recording by Elizete Cardoso went from D minor (the relative minor of F with one flat) to D major (two sharps).Arranged for String Quartet. Key of D. Early Intermediate.

Osman Pasha is in love with his slave, the young Émilie, but she rejects him, telling him she was about to be married when a group of brigands abducted her. Osman urges her to give up hope that her fiancé is still alive (Air: Il faut que l'amour s'evole) but Émilie refuses to believe this is true. The sky turns dark as a storm brews; Émilie sees the violent weather as an image of her despair (Air: Vaste empire des mers). A chorus of shipwrecked sailors is heard (Chorus: Ciel! de plus d'une mort). Émilie laments that they too will be taken captive. She recognises one of the sailors as her fiancé Valère. Their joy at their reunion is tempered by sadness at the thought they are both slaves now. Osman enters and is furious to see the couple embracing. However, unexpectedly, he announces he will free them. He too has recognised Valère, who was once his master but magnanimously freed him. Osman loads Valère's surviving ships with gifts and the couple praise his generosity. They call on the winds to blow them back to France (Duet and chorus: Volez, Zéphyrs). The act ends with celebratory dances as Valère and Émilie prepare to set sail.

The music interweaves elements of East European folklore, North American minimalism, European polyphony and traditional Italian music. The first sketch is a very rhythmical, lively and powerful dance based on a fragment from Bela Bartok’s collection For Children. The second sketch is like a canon, a tribute to Pachelbel, but interestingly the development of the piece is influenced by contemporary minimalism. The music, based on a cell of 4 bars with a typical tonal progression that is constantly variated, is simple, beautiful and bright. The last sketch is an homage to Federico Fellini’s universe. Fifteen Hungarian Peasant Songs, Sz. 71, BB 79 is a collection of short folk melodies arranged for piano by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók. It was composed between 1914 and 1918. In 1933, Bartók adapted and orchestrated parts of the piece as Hungarian Peasant Songs, Sz. 100, BB 107, commonly known by its Hungarian name, Magyar parasztdalok([ˈmÉ’ÉŸÉ’r ˈpÉ’rÉ’stËŒdÉ’lok]).My arrangement for standard wind quintet is based on the piano music. The collection consists of fifteen movements, some of which are grouped together. Brass Ensemble - Intermediate-Advanced - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM213 Composed by Keiron Anderson. Score and parts. 46 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM213. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM213). ISBN 9790570481125.Brass Ensemble - Trumpet in Eb or D, 2 Bb Trumpets, Flugelhorn, Horn in F, 3 Trombones, Bass Trombone, Tuba. A large scale ensemble in a mature and confidant style. The opening section is slow, with gentle syncopation and sophisticated harmonies including very controlled dissonances to heighten the emotion and tension of the music. This is then followed by a riotous fast section with the modal feeling of a Scottish reel, with everyone getting a piece of the action. Frequent modulations and lively syncopations drive this music forward - you can almost hear the dancers stamp the floor! At the end of this section the syncopations wind down and the music returns to the material from the start of the piece, before winding down and relaxing even further to an almost mournful conclusion. The slower sections will require sensitive and musical playing and direction, whilst the fast section requires nimble fingers and tongues to get the best from the music. Suitable for players of Grade 6 upwards.

String Quintet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.901334 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Dan Edwards. Baroque,Holiday,Standards,Wedding. 17 pages. Arr. Dan Edwards #6590467. Published by arr. Dan Edwards (A0.901334). Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel, arranged for string quartet, string quintet, or string orchestra by Dan Edwards. Dan is a prize-winning composer and arranger, and was the staff arranger for the Countess of Wessex's String Orchestra for many years. danedwardscreative.com This is an arrangement like no other!Pachelbel's Canon is a hugely popular piece, but unfortunately it was not written for the string quartet. The original is for three violins and basso continuo, so this presents quite a few problems when string quartets attempt to play it.  - Firstly, the 'viola' part is extraordinarily high, not only making it very difficult to play, but making that one voice stick out much more than the other three in the highest parts of the piece. Usually the high bits are just transposed down an octave but this isn't very satisfying. My solution in this arrangement is to swap the voices of the canon around so that the viola always plays the lowest part. Have a look at the score to see what I mean - the viola part isn't transposed, but it never goes above an E on the A string. - Secondly, the first two bars should have harmony, as there should be a keyboard instrument accompanying the cello. To compensate for this I've added some simple harmony in small note heads at the start, before each canon entry. - Thirdly, the cellist always gets lost in this piece. I know because I am a cellist and I always get stressed out towards the end of this piece. So I've added a reduced-size violin 1 part to the cello part so the cellist can follow along and know exactly when the piece is going to end!  Includes a full score (6 pages), and complete set of parts. Violin 1 - 3 pages. Violin 2 - 3 pages. Viola - 2 pages. Cello/ bass - 3 pages.
