Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.811700 Composed by Joseph Bodin De Boismortier (1689 - 1755). Arranged by Edited & arranged by Pat Spence. Baroque,Concert,Standards. 24 pages. Piper Publications #4310185. Published by Piper Publications (A0.811700). The sonata is the first of a set of six published in Paris in 1725 by L’Auteur & Boivin ‘Avec Privilege du Roy.1725.’ The title page described them as ‘SONATES EN TRIO pour Trois Flûtes Transversieres sans Basse Par MR BOISMORTIER. OEVRE SEPTIÈME.’ The publication consisted of a set of parts each with the title page followed by a copy of the  Privilége granted by King Louis to Boismortier to print and sell his music. There are 5 movements, Gravement, Allemande Gayment, lentement, Gavotte en rondeau & Gayment. Players of Intermediate standard will enjoy playing this music. Obvious mistakes and omissions have been corrected without comment, trills have been added where there is for e.g. a sequence where only the first trill has been indicated or a similar passage has a trill in that part or another part. The more modern tr has been substituted for + and the mordant used on shorter notes retained. No dynamics were included in the original and none have been added.  Players should feel free to add their own.  For the arrangement some changes of register have been made to accommodate the ranges of the oboe and clarinet and additional slurs have been added (dashed lines). Players are free to retain the ‘feel’ of early eighteenth century style whilst playing modern instruments. The original publication used the, now defunct, soprano clef (with G on the bottom line of the stave) and this edition has been transcribed into the modern treble clef. In the eighteenth century it was quite usual for wind players to play several instruments. The use of the soprano clef would have made it easier to switch between flute and bassoon.

String Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1470668 Composed by Rolando J. Gómez. 21st Century,Classical,Multicultural,World. 25 pages. Rising Tide Music Press #1048320. Published by Rising Tide Music Press (A0.1470668). Nocturno Isleño is a nocturne for string orchestra, with a strong Cuban influence. Composed at a grade 3 level, the piece serves as a musical exploration designed to enhance rhythmic sensibilities, focusing particularly on syncopations, and the allure of the D harmonic scale.Inspired by the rich musical heritage of Cuba, Nocturno Isleño draws from the rhythmic language of popular Cuban genres, notably the bolero and the danzón. The composition also weaves in elements of folk- loric music, creating a harmonious blend that reflects the vibrant musical culture found on the enchanting Cuban Isle. This composition was commissioned by the New Canon Project, a partnership between the American Choral Directors Association, the American String Teachers Association, and Rising Tide Music Press, with support of the Sphinx Venture Fund and the National Endowment for the Arts.I hope Nocturno Isleño, in addition to teaching musical and technical skills, can inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for Cuban music.- Rolando J. Gómez.

Clarinet Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.913611 Composed by Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by James Marshall Music. Classical,Standards. Individual part. 36 pages. James Marshall Music #3424989. Published by James Marshall Music (A0.913611). This Finale movement from the Hydan Piano Sonata #1 in Eb lends itself to realization in the rich sonorities of the clarinet quartet. Haydn's chordal spacing, articulation (fz, fp, staccatos), pungent dissonant half steps, and melismatic passages come to life in the inherent versatility of the clarinet family. This is not a piano transcription. Clarinet style figurations are chosen from the piano  ones. The range is up to high G in the first Clarinet and Bass Clarinet range is form low E (C also if possible) to high G on the first space above the treble clef. Scored for 3 Bb Clarinets and Bass Clarinet.

Solo Guitar - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1171119 Composed by Scott Joplin. Arranged by Brian Streckfus. 20th Century,Barbershop,Blues,Folk,Ragtime. Individual part. 2 pages. Brian Streckfus #771449. Published by Brian Streckfus (A0.1171119). 1. 2 page arrangement for guitar. I'm sorry to say this is not the full version, but a 16 page version is long winded for my purposes.2. Guitar Tab added. 3. Slurs and slides added. 4. Re-harmonized to be idiomatic for guitar, be less cliche,  and to emphasize the main melody more. 5. Some composers indications added when really necessary.  6. Left hand fingerings added.7. Chord nomenclature added.8. Overly excessive ties removed.9. Some octaves changes to better suit guitar.Tips:1. Be very careful of the difference between slurs and ties! Sometimes I don't show slurs on the tab, but this time I had to.2. The rests are real and they are suggested because they lead to a jazzier rag time sound. I feel like it goes without saying that sustain is ultimately up to the performer, which is why I removed a lot of pedantic ties; they seem to add confusion half the time. 3. The D7 is a slight key change because it has an F# in the chord. It's a secodary dominace chord, V7/V, and often a vii7b5 can replace it. In other words, the F# goes gravitates into the next chord, a G Major chord.4. G6 is really just the 3 thinnest strings of the guitar open. It's a great transition chord.5. The D# is part of the C major blues scale.6. Adding more 7th chords than originally there is almost always an interesting pursuit. Going from G to G7 can certainly aid in helping things sound more goofy.

A collection of six duets and six trios written with the youngest players in mind!Ranges limited so that students can focus on rhythmic accuracy, tone quality, dynamics, and expression.Rhythms are limited to whole, dotted half, half, quarter, and paired eighth notes. No syncopation! Each piece is about one minute in length to accommodate the limited stamina of younger players.A variety of styles and moods to motivate studentsEvery measure of each part is numbered! You're welcome! Duets may be performed by any two instruments, with like or mixed instrumentation, but if you use mixed instrumentation you may have better results if upper instruments play the top line and lower instruments play the bottom line. Also, it may be preferable to avoid having two tubas, as the results may be less desirable.Trios should be performed by two higher pitched instruments and one lower pitched instrument. Parts 1 and 2 could be flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, or horn. Part 3 should be at least one octave lower, and should be bassoon, bass clarinet, baritone saxophone, trombone, baritone, or tuba.Books for Flute/Oboe, Bb treble, Eb treble, Tenor Saxophone, Horn, Bass Clef, Tuba, Bells/XylophoneNotesDuetsSneaking AroundMeter: 4/4Key: BbRange: A - GFocus: Staccato, Slur, Phrasing, Dynamic ContrastCountry DanceMeter: 3/4Key: BbRange: A - GFocus: Staccato, Triple Meter, PhrasingAll Aboard!Meter: 4/4Key: C minorRange: Bb - AbFocus: Staccato, Slur, Phrasing, Dynamic Contrast,Note: The second part on this piece may be especially challenging for young flute, oboe, and trombone players.Give and TakeMeter: 3/2Key: BbRange: Bb - FFocus: Interplay between voices, especially contrasting staccato and legato, Triple MeterNote: The meter signature of 3/2 allows for livelier rhythmic content without presenting sixteenth notes.
