Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1510561 Composed by Michael Close. 21st Century,Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Score. 20 pages. Abundant Silence #1085760. Published by Abundant Silence (A0.1510561). Cat Mewsikby Michael Close For Solo Piano, Early Advanced, 18 Pages I have four cats at home, which qualifies me as a borderline crazy cat man. If I neglect to close the piano lid, I’ll sometimes hear them walk across the piano keys in the middle of the night, waking up the house with dissonant clusters of notes going high to low, or low to high- this was the initial inspiration for these three pieces for piano about cats.Birds at the Window - We have hung our birdfeeder outside our window. The windowsill is a favorite spot for the kitties to relax and stretch in the sun. When the birds come to feed, the cats bristle with excitement as they chatter and swat at the window. The birds seem to know they are safe and fly around freely.Kitty’s Dream - Housecats spend most of their life sleeping or dozing. I’ve read that cats do dream. I wonder what they dream of.The Laser Pointer - The kitties seem to know that we are teasing them with the laser pointer, but they can’t fight the instinct to chase it. They feign disinterest, hoping to catch the dot off guard. In a flash they leap for the dot, skidding wildly. Of course, they never catch it. I almost feel bad for laughing. Eventually, they will become frustrated and disgusted with this game and slink away.-Michael Close.

Published by David Banney (A0.878864). Tigers and Teapots is a collection of children's songs, arranged for unison children's choir and string orchestra. The pieces can be performed in many ways - they can be performed as indicated, for choir and strings, or the vocal lines can be performed by one or more instruments. The CD is available on iTunes: https://music.apple.com/au/album/tigers-and-teapots/1356450586Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/72RmUT63TxOKPAr9tWN6PA?si=y6GRHMWHQD-WIuMac6LeKAVol. 2 contains: Old brass wagon - Apple tree (Moon Apples) - Button - Cockatoo & Bow, wow, wow (Cockatoo and Dog) - Sleep, sleep - We are dancing in the forest (Wolf Dance)As most of the pieces are very short, no separate parts are provided for different sections of the orchestra (with the excpeption of a few longer pieces). This allows children to learn to read from a score, and allows for great flexibility in rehearsals.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1134936 By Juan María Solare. By Juan María Solare. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Instructional. Score. 8 pages. Juan Maria Solare #652301. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.1134936). Juan María Solare: Bubbles, Floating Bubbles - a polyrhythmic etude Concert etude composed in Bremen (2-3 July) and Worpswede (5 July 2010). Duration: 4:30 (if the repetition -from bar 28 to the end- is being played; if not, 3 minutes). Bublles, Floating Bubbles - by Juan María Solare Bubbles, Floating Bubbles on Youtube: Bubbles, Floating Bubbles on Spotify: This composition is a concert etude, since it can be performed at a recital (and not only used to practice). The degree of virtuosity is relatively low, but nevertheless not suitable for absolute beginners. Technically, the main characteristic of this piece is the polyrhythm 2 against 3: the melody subdivides the quarter in 2, and the accompaniment plays triplets. In this sense, an answer to Carl Czerny's polyrhythmic studie in E major. Please use abundant pedal when playing this piece. The idea is to generate a cloud of sound, not a machinal pattern. The sound character of this piece should be closer to Debussy than to Scarlatti. The initial indication scorrevole (fleeting) should orientate the character and the sound quality, the touch. Fermatas and caesuras should add time to the bar, like breathing in. In bar 8 (end) the silence is only in he left hand: the note of the right hand shouldn't be interrupted. This is actually clear if one read the rhythms carefully, but my experience tells me that it is prudent to underline this particular point. In bar 16 (and similar places), left hand: it is the central melody what should be in foreground, not the bass. Imagine that the melody is played by a cello or viola, and the bass by a double bass (or better: a bassoon). Try to achieve a different timbre and to separate therefore both layers. The title refers to this poem: Sum venti ingenium breve Flos sum, scilicet, aeris …… Sum blandum, petulans, vagum, Pulchrum, purpureum, et decens, Comptum, floridulum, et recens. Richard Crashaw -Jacobean English poet- (1613-1649), Bulla (Bubble) I am the brief nature of the wind To be sure, I am the flower of air ...... I am charming, wanton, inconstant, Beautiful, gleaming, and noble, Ornate, somewhat blooming, and fresh.

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1173365 Composed by Alexander Liebermann. Classical,Contemporary. Score. 12 pages. Abundant Silence #773511. Published by Abundant Silence (A0.1173365). Bagetelles Chanteés by Alexander Liebermann For Piano and Soprano, Early Advanced, 10 Pages The Bagatelles Chantées is a song cycle based on three poems that I wrote during my two first years in New York City. It is only after my studies at the Juilliard School in 2015 that I decided to set them to music. Each of the songs had to have, like the poems themselves, its distinct style. Accordingly, I came up with the idea of making them - to a certain extent - style studies. In the dedication line under every song title in this edition you will find the name of the composer whose style I gave my best to emulate. The first song, Spleen, is dedicated to Olivier Messiaen. The second song, Silence, is dedicated to Gérard Grisey. The third and last song, La Reine (The Queen), is dedicated to Francis Poulenc.-Alexander Liebermann.

Duet Clarinet in Bb, Cello - Intermediate / Advanced - Digital Download SKU: D3.SM-05-0002F Composed by Jack Curtis Dubowsky. Instrumental Duet. Jean Racine's (1639-1699) tragedy Andromaque (1667) inspired these duets. Contemporary. Sheet music; Two copies. 36 pages. De Stijl Music Digital #SM-05-0002F. Published by De Stijl Music Digital (D3.SM-05-0002F). 8.5 x 11 inches.Bongatelles is a pun in homage to Erik Satie's whimsical titles. Satie also found inspiration in Greek antiquity and French literature, most notably his Socrate. Jean Racine's (1639-1699) tragedy Andromaque (1667) inspired these duets. Racine took his characters from Greek and Roman stories and adapted or created new situations for them in accordance with baroque fascination with neo-classicism in literature. Andromaque is a love quadrangle in which all who love die or go insane. Only the prisoner-queen Andromaque, who is incapable of love, survives. Andromaque, icy cold, rejects amorous advances from her captor Phyrrus. She plots her survival, trying desperately to save her infant son Astyanax from the Greek ambassador Oreste who would have her Trojan line finished off for good. The baby Astyanax sleeps silently, unaware of the deadly drama surrounding him. Does he nap peacefully? Or does he dream, like his mother, of revenge for the death of his conquered father, the great Trojan warrior king Hector? Phyrrus awkwardly tries to sweet-talk his captive Andromaque into marriage. She rejects him until he becomes furious and threatens to kill her son Astyanax unless she agrees to wed. Phyrrus alternates between threats and cajoling. Hermione loves Phyrrus, who decides to marry Andromaque instead. She rejects her own suitor Oreste, until she vengefully has him kill Phyrrus. Oreste does her bidding, only to be rewarded by a final rejection. She accuses Oreste of being a murderous monster. When Hermione sees the body of Phyrrus, she kills herself. The Greek soldier and ambassador Oreste sailed to Epire to persuade King Phyrrus to kill or hand over the infant Astyanax, last of the line of Troy. Oreste is torn between duty and love for usury Hermione. Her broken promises and final rejection affect him profoundly. Oreste goes insane upon learning of her death.

Piano,Soprano Saxophone - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533351 Composed by Ali Ben Sou Alle. Arranged by Paul Wehage. Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. Score and part. 33 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #2363197. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533351). One of the most enigmatic figures in the history of the Saxophone, Ali Ben Sou Alle (Charles-Valentin Soualle) was born in1820 in Arras, France. After receiving his first prize in Clarinet at the Paris Conservatory in 1844. he served as the director ofmusic of The French Marine Band in Senegal, and then was named first clarinet solo at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. However, after the Revolution of 1848, Soualle was forced to flee France to England where he settled in London, playing in the Orchestra of the Queen's Theatre. His songs and piano pieces were published in London. While in London, Soualle met another exiled French musician, Louis Antoine Jullien, who conducted a light music series inLondon. Jullien encouraged Soualle to take up the saxophone, and after modifying the instrument by adding a single octavemechanism (the modern system used today) and keys for the lower register, Soualle became known as a virtuoso and begantouring performing solo recitals (or mono-concerts, as they were called at the time) calling his modified saxophone the«turcophone ». He performed in all the European capitals and then traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Manilla, Java, throughChina and then to India where he finally settled in Mysore, becoming the director of the Royal Music for the Maharadjah. It wasduring this period that he converted to Islam and changed his nmae to Ali ben Sou Alle (or Ali, son of Soualle). Hesubsequently travaled to Ile Maurice, to French Polynesia, the Cap of Natal and the Cap of Good Hope. All of these voyageswere subjects of musical works which Soualle entitled Souvenirs de... and may perhaps have been part of a collection knownas The Royal Album which was presented to the Prince of Wales after a royal concert. Soualle returned to Mysore in 1858 and was almost killed in the Indian Revolution.Around 1860, Soualle returned to France for health reasons and began publishing his own music. On March 27 1865, heperformed a command performance for the Emperor Napoleon III at the Tuileries Palace in the presence of the entire ImperialFamily. After 1865, nothing more is known about him.Souvenirs du Cap Bonne Espérence (Souvenirs of the Cap of Good Hope) begins with a dramatic aria, perhaps evoking the trip to the Cap which was, in the 19th century, still very dangerous. The Irish folksong « the Irish Emigrant » is presented as a them and in two variations. Finally an extended polka in rondo form finishes the work brilliantly.

Solo Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1327548 Composed by Various. Arranged by Socrates Arvanitakis. Renaissance. Individual part. 83 pages. Socrates Arvanitakis #915591. Published by Socrates Arvanitakis (A0.1327548). FROM THE PREFACEThe fourth volume of Renaissance music for classical guitar contains twenty mostly well-known and a few more rare intermediate Renaissance pieces taken mainly from lute and vihuela sources. I have tried to keep the upper level of technical difficulty to the contemporary grade VI level of the A.B.R.S.M. which takes the student to the advanced level (grades VII-VIII).The pieces are given in two versions, first as decorated pages in ordinary notation, and then the same pieces are again given in undecorated pages of notation and tablature. Therefore each volume contains two books in one and the choice is left to the user whether to keep the volume as presented, or to construct his own book by inclusion or deletion of unwanted pages, blank pages, etc, for use either as a printed or a tablet-screen book version. The addition of tablature of course results in increasing the number of pages needed for the presentation of the pieces, therefore the staff sizes are here reduced to an appropriate degree which can maintain the two-page view principle of any piece without need for automatic or manual page turners, foot pedals etc.THEMATIC INDEX OF THIS VOLUME  & NAVIGATION BY ACTIVE LINKSThe thematic index following the cover page of this volume contains active links to the decorated pages of the pieces. The titles of the pieces are also active links interconnecting decorated and tablature pages of the same piece. The header in pages containing  the title of a piece is an active link bringing back to the thematic index. The YOUTUBE logo icons in the thematic index are external links to particular performances of these pieces by various artists.Socrates ArvanitakisLondon 2023CONTENTSPavana 1 Luys MilanPavana 2 L.
