Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1250185 By Helga Ragnars and Knut Rygnestad. By Guðfinna Jónsdóttir and Knut Rygnestad. Classical,Contemporary,Folk. Score. 60 pages. Knut Olav Rygnestad #844518. Published by Knut Olav Rygnestad (A0.1250185). This morning your being wokeIn knowledge of your heart’s lossAs the night had no dreamsBut only a thousand falling stars. Then the richness of a busy daySeemed to you the work of evil witches.– Guðfinna Jónsdóttir from Hömrum (1899–1946)This quote, taken from the poem “The Golden Momentâ€, showcases some of Guðfinna’s writing’s distinct qualities: Profound sadness with a layer of beauty, and a juxtaposition of the mundane and the colloquial with grand imagery and the supernatural. Throughout her poetry we see these strong contrasts: A once-upon-a-lifetime moment that passes you by, but also the infinite beauty of a new-born baby. The wild Icelandic nature presented metaphorically like a protective Viking ship, but also great evil hiding under a sweet, romantic exterior. The life-long journey to a place of great beauty that was always inside you, yet also man’s desperate and futile attempts to bend a great mountain to their will. Her colourful and imaginative writing evokes the dramatic landscapes of her homeland in careful detail, as we’re presented with situations that carry both the great beauty and danger that the volcanic island holds.Guðfinna lived most of her life in Northern Iceland, working as a church musician and writing beautiful texts that unfortunately never made it outside of her native country during her lifetime. We get some small hints about her personal life through her poetry, such as the tragic and early death of her sister Hulda, who died from tuberculosis shortly after getting engaged. Helga Ragnars, being from the same town as Guðfinna and already familiar with her poetry, introduced Knut Rygnestad to it in 2019, after he expressed interest in writing settings of little-known poetry by women. The first two she sent were “Hið gullna augnablik†and “Tvær systurâ€, and Knut found these a joy to work with and quickly requested more, eventually leading to nine songs in total. With funding from Hljóðritasjóður Rannís and the Norwegian Arts Council, they were able to record and release these songs in 2023, and hope that this will help to make Guðfinna’s poetry reach a wider audience. This book contains sheet music for nine songs: Hið gullna augnablik Vöggubarnsins maÌl AÌfangastaður Tvær systur LjoÌssins knörr Hver ert þuÌ Mannsbarn Fjallið blaÌtt Mig dreymir enn

Maria-Félicie-Clémence de Grandval (1828–1907) was born on January 28, 1828 at Saint-Rémy-des-Monts, France and died on January 15, 1907 in Paris. After the death of her mother,Louise Adèle du Temple de Mésières, her father the Baron de Reiset, a military officer remarriedwith an Englishwoman and moved his family to London. She also wrote orchestral music, chamber music, and over 60 songs (to poets such as Sully Prudhomme, MichelCarré, Henri Meilhac, Georges Hartmann, Charles Grandmougin and Louis Gallet.) Mandolin Trio - Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4260 Composed by Daniel Ahlert. Score and parts. 25 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4260. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4260). This trio is an arrangement of the 5 Episodes for mandolin solo. These were originally intended as music for young players, but turned out to be somewhat more difficult than planned. The last movement was not suitable for a trio version, so that it now comprises only four movements. The programmatic titles are reflected in the music on a deeper level, for instance in the rhythmic fragmentation in Frankenstein's Hamster or in the Chorus of the Werewolvesâ?? uncleanly howling.

Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.575717). Duet based on the anonymous English poem about a centipede - the creature was quite happy with its hundred legs until a frog asked it to think about which leg comes after which... it then lay distracted in a ditch considering how to run... The sound sample is the English version, sung in B flat It can be sung by two solo voices or by a two part choir of any kind. Versions are available in English (B flat major and D major) German (F major and D major) and in French (F major and D major) the pdf file contains all of these versions. A video of the English original (in B flat) can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo25CSSE5eU These are the words of my French version of the song Un cent-pattes était bien content Mais la grenouille l'interroge «Comment sais-tu quelle patte va avant C'est la gauche ou droite ou quoi?» These are the words of my German version of the song Einem Hundertfüßler ging's ganz wohl Bis ein Frosch ihn schlau befragte Weisst du welcher Fuss nach vorne geht?

[literal translation] I put my army cap in the cage and went out with the bird on my head Now then, don't we salute any more? asked the commander. No we don't salute any more replied the bird. Oh, OK, pardon me, I thought we saluted. said the commander. You are quite forgiven, because anyone can make a mistake. said the bird. Solo Guitar - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1295010 By Duke Ellington. By Albany Bigard, Duke Ellington, and Irving Mills. Arranged by Christopher J. Malin. 20th Century,Jazz,R & B,Soul,Standards. Individual part. 1 pages. Christopher J. Malin #885330. Published by Christopher J. Malin (A0.1295010). Solo jazz guitar chord/melody arrangement with tablature. Seldom heard standard in this style. Beautiful, instantly recognizable melody. One of the Duke's           finer pieces. This piece makes you stand out as a solo jazz guitarist of all idioms. Some chords are played as triads or dyads. I tend to use a minimalist style that keeps the important parts of the music. This piece needs to be swung hard. It don't mean a thing, if it ain't got that swing! Very danceable piece. Legend has it that Ellington's orchestra would play this rhythm as long as the floor was filled with dancers! Another tried and true arrangement. Have fun with it! Sounds great on acoustic and electric guitars.

Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.723069 Composed by Miguel Rios Toledano. Arranged by Joel Jacklich (ASCAP). Folk,Latin,Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 230 pages. Joel Jacklich #2075457. Published by Joel Jacklich (A0.723069). ORCHESTRAL PARTS ONLY. (Large format score published separately) Aires Nacionales Mexicanos, Op. 558, is a potpourri by the nineteenth-century Mexican bandmaster and composer Miguel Rios Toledano. It was written sometime during the presidency of Porfirio Diaz (r. 1876-1911) to whom the work was dedicated. The introduction to the twenty-five minute work (which features more than forty traditional regional songs and dances from Mexico) begins with the Himno Nacional in an instrumental version (Chorus, Stanza, Chorus). By Mexican law and custom (although this law is not applicable in the rest of the world where the Himno Nacional is considered in the public domain), in order to perform the Himno Nacional (even in this case as part of a larger orchestral work), permission must be obtained. In the second chapter of the Mexican Law on the National Arms, Flag, and Anthem (Ley sobre el Escudo, la Bandera y los Himnos Nacionales), it states that if the anthem is played outside of Mexico, Article 48 requires that the Secretary of External Relations (Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores), through proper channels, must grant permission for the national anthem to be played and will also ensure that the anthem is performed with dignity and is not sung for commercial purposes. In the spirit of this law, and for good international relations, it is recommended that when performing the entire work, it would be good form to contact the nearest Mexican Consulate to see about obtaining permission. Should permission not be received, a cut has been indicated in the music from the first beat of measure 2 to the second beat of measure 42 to eliminate the Himno Nacional portion from the performance. At the time the work was written, the Himno Nacional was not quite so closely monitored, hence its inclusion in this work and its common accepted performance a century ago. This arrangement for full orchestra was made from an original piano version by Miguel Rios Toldano. The orchestration was made for a concert in celebration of Cinco de Mayo by the Imperial Valley Symphony on May 5, 2012. The parts are in standard letter page format (8-1/2x11) The score (found published separatetely at SheetMusicPlus) is formatted for 11x17 paper.
