Quartet adapted for two violins, viola and cello in four movements, was commissioned by the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival in 1990 and was premiered in August of that year. This piece represents Mark O’Connor’s first work in a classical genre. The original instrumentation called for an unorthodox combination, omitting the usual second violin part and adding bass, to highlight the contrast between his fiddling style and the classical style of the other players. Upon his adapting of the score, O’Connor discovered that in many situations, execution was much more successful with the standard string quartet configuration. The Quartet was released on the Warner Bros. recording, The Fiddle Concerto. O’Connor, Daniel Phillips, Carter Brey and Edgar Meyer were the original cast who helped usher in the new O’Connor music style which helped pave the way for many more pieces to come. In this four-movement work, O’Connor offers a multitude of insights into ways in which traditional fiddling and the classical string writing of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries resemble each other. The music is suited for advanced and intermediate levels.

Olympic Reel (for violin) composed by Mark O'Connor was written in early 1996 for the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA. It was premiered at the closing ceremonies before 100,000 people in the Olympic Stadium, with 10,000 world-class athletes from around the world in attendance, as well as 3.5 billion people from the television viewing audience.

Mr. O'Connor wanted to write a fiddle tune that brought celtic sounds from Europe mixed in with the American folk music to give an international flavor to the style. One of Mr. O'Connor's friends and colleagues, Natalie MacMaster, was the artist to first record this music on CD, and she subsequently asked the composer to join her in a version that accommodated both of them on fiddles. The result was fiddle fireworks, Olympic style!

Ogni Colore Al Cielo is the 12th track of Laura Pausini's album: Primavera in Anticipo, released by Warner Music on 11 November 2008. The album was described by music critics as Pausini's most personal album to date. Pausini co-wrote each song included in the album, except the track Prima che esci / Antes de irte, written by Italian rock singer-songwriter Gianluca Grignani. The album features the song Primavera in anticipo (It Is My Song) / Primavera anticipada (It Is My Song), a duet with English singer James Blunt, and also includes collaborations with Italian songwriters Niccolò Agliardi, Cheope and Daniel Vuletic.

Its Spanish-language version also won Best Female Pop Vocal Album at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2009.
